how is this even different? The question is who hasn't done a rap-rock collaboration, especially from his generation of rappers?
The music is just a pile up of sound effects. I can't identify the rhymth, soul, feeling, or intent of the music minus the verses, nor what makes it stand out in it's own genre. If you hear music you will walk away from it and remember it. It can get stuck in your head, you can sing it, and if all of these things don't happen you'll at least recognized it when you hear it again. Not the case with any of these songs because they're just a compilation of sound effects which frankly is one of the factors that killed the rock genre(s) (all 5000 of them).
The people that actually knew what they were doing when they made rock and roll made something that provoked human reaction. It was actually the point of rock and roll. So whether you tapped your feet, nodded your head, got happy, became angry, felt cool, felt sad, danced, that shit was supposed to make humans do something.
This is just sound effects and is typical of these people that think they're so deep and so musical that they just make noises for their own ego as opposed to any real audience so that people that wear scarves indoors can act like they like it to see more advanced their riends with smaller indoor scarves. Rza is done like the god StonerSloth said.
hahahah wtf? I didn't know about that story but I think he genuinely has an issue with hip hop. In the 90s hip hop was considered stupid music. It still is but now 90s hip hop is considered smart music for issues that are rooted in America's own cultural flaws and patterns.
Rza came up in that environment so even though 60% of his artists and himself had a more diverse vocabulary than Shakespeare, revolutionized how music was made, revolutionized how music was composed, revolutionized how rhymes were crafted, and evolved hip hop to be the single most dominate global culture today, in his mind he's working with his superior and 'evolving' or 'growing'.
He has gen-x nigga mentality like hell. He thinks that 'the hollywood crowd' is cool and actual cool people (like Wu-Tang) are stupid. I saw in an interview with him and this generic ass dude where they were being asked their influences. Rza actually couldn't open his mouth and mention 1 hip hop act and this is a guy that used to get on a boat just to hear hip hop music. It was the other guy that finally started mentioning NWA etc etc before Rza finally mentioned a rapper. Really sad shit.
It's like when Madonna went to the UK because in her mind she thought that it would make her cooler and more 'avante garde', but she ended up becoming dry and useless like Rza because all of the coolness is happening in America.
