Country Grammar was a nice album. I didn't hear much of his after that though, he had the song #1 on the Training Day soundtrack then I never heard his stuff again. The St Lunatics stuff was okay

He was everything I hate about pop music and hip hop's influence on that God awful disgraceful industry.
How is Ali's album Heavy Starch? I saw it at the record store the other day. I hear people say that he is the closest thing there is to a lyrical lunatic. Would you recommend it??
Nelly was big when i was in third grade.
Ride Wit Me stood the test of time and was on a playlist we had for batting practice my senior year.
i still sing pimp juice and not to mention its getting hot in here is referenced all the damn time. shit even GZA referenced it in a track.
also that song with kelly rowland... gets me every time.
i liked nelly dont listen to him anymore. BUT my ex would play this newer nelly featured track and compared to all the shit shed listened to this song was actually halfway decent. she said it reminded her of me ill have to youtube it and find it be back
that didnt take long...
jeremih seems to be that dude in the mainstream when it comes to these type of tracks (whatever genre this is considered)
His first 2 albums are the only good ones. Country Grammar is a classic, second is cool, the rest are trash. I remember when Country Grammar dropped, I was in middle school and 1/5th of the album was on the radio 24/7. Between him, nelly and cash money it was a great time for rap.
It's crazy how much location can effect music. I learned that when I moved to Houston and suddenly all the houston rap I used to hate started making sense. The video to EI is every weekend in the midwest from the ages 15-24. Except you'll get laid like twice a year but still.
Yeah country grammar was everywhere and the singles were still pretty big by the time the second album came out and there was one St Lunatics on a soundtrack that was pretty hot
Early 2000's rap is a lot better than east coast 90's nerds give it credit for
I only remember this
I don't think that breathe in breathe out was on the album despite getting a lot of play at the time

yeah the early 2000s was a good time, arguably the best in hip hop. most people on here would disagree because they think the 90s was just nas mobb deep and wutang but that really wasn't the over all sound of that time unless you're talking about west coast artists. Everyone on everyone's GOAT list was active in the early 2000s putting out some of their best work, even Rakim.
Ok yeah I remember why I didn't fuck with that Ali album, I didn't like that single LOL ...and I was like 14 and had no money...but my limewire game was crakkk
Ludacris's first album was out at this time too and it was fucking SICK
Back For the First Time was a classic.
Thank You for your recommendations, I perhaps will pick it up this weekend. That is why I love mom and pop record stores, they never send unsold items back to the distributor..
^that shit sounds like when Grandpa tried to diss Thugnificent on Boondocks
Nelly won that battle with #1
