How do you mostly listen to hiphop?

for years I've been doing other stuff while listening to hiphop


these days I'm trying to put in more of an effort to just sit down and listen, or to listen while being busy with my collection, it has really given me a renewed appreciation of hiphop. it's time that pays back dividends so to speak. it's funny how I'm now listening to music again the way I was in my teens haha

I listen to music in 1 of 3 ways, in the background on my computer while I'm doing work, in the car, or sometimes with earphones when I'm walking around. I never pump music loud anymore like i did when i was younger in my house.

Mostly when I'm working at home but also in the bus/train.

Music is not what it used to be to me when I still collected. I sold pretty much all my cd's and now I check everything on Spotify so there's less of a connection. I just can't be bothered to pay for cd's anymore and store them in the house only to listen to them very rarely.

I consider buying the classics/dope new releases on vinyl at some point but right now I'm focused on other things.

i took this thread title as if you were saying... "how do you mostly listen to hip hop?" like how do you only listen to the genre of hip hop music and not much else.

nevertheless to answer the poll i dont fit into one category. but a big answer would be... when i have the time. whether that is driving in my car to and fro places, through my headphones while doing yard work/shooting hoops or while on the computer researching/downloading/doing aimless activities.

i never had a problem listening/appreciating hip hop (or any other genre of music for that matter)

believe it or not as i get older here i find myself not "needing" to listen to music as much.

its weird. i think it might have something to do with not being interested/captivated by newer music anymore.

just saturday i went to mow the yard and trim trees. usually id pop the headphones in right away and have a good time but for some reason, i had second thoughts, and only decided to pop the headphones in after i trimmed trees and i ended up mowing the yard to Prince, even then i wasnt even going to mow the yard while listening to music.

Pretty much only time I listen to any music is on my to and from work on the train. I don't really listen to music as much as I used to. I'm not as interested in digging for vinyl anymore either and can't be bothered sitting down listening to a record anymore

driving or at home through my sound system - i might be browsing the net, reading or just sitting there whilst doing that.

when i run or i'm just walking around i usually favour listening to podcasts over music.

Car/Walking/Exercise

Occasionally I'll play videogames while listening to music which is what I always did as a teen. But I also remember listening to records from start to finish with no distractions as a teen. Maybe age just makes you more distracted. You worry more so sitting down and not thinking about anything but the album you're playing is a difficult task, even though it is the best way.

I want a new album that I would anticipate like that though.

I listen to hip hop at least 8 hours a day at work, always when I'm driving, and I usually lay down and listen with headphones for 30-60mins before I sleep which I've done since forever

I can definitely relate. Listening to Supreme Clientele still reminds me of playing Quake 3 online back in the day, and Legend of the Liquid Sword reminds me of this one PS1 RPG game because I had it on repeat while playing.
It was MP3 players that completely stopped me from listening to albums from start to finish though, I used to listen to a full Wu album every night for like 10 years now I always have everything on shuffle

Always at full blast whether at home, in the whip or on headphones. Pretty sure I will be completely or damn near deaf in about thirty years..

Lol I can't play shuffle. I would just skip through everything until I find what I want. I usually just make a playlist each day. Some old shit, some stuff i've been playing recently and random new tracks I didn't hear yet.

I bought a Sony wireless speaker for at home. Just carry it with me wherever I go. Works great in the shower too.

i probably listen 6-8 hours a day to music.. i could check all of the above, it depends on the situation. sometimes it's only background but quite often i'm pretty concentrated on the music.. i might skim read something or do something but my main focus is on the music.

since i listen to so much music i mostly use headphones.. maybe 1 hour a day (an album) i play full blast, but i got to cut the neighbors some slack so a good set of headphones is a life neccessity

I listen to it any way really. Walking to work on headphones, in the car, headphones at home when im reading or whatever, on the stereo when im doing shit.

Like most people here, I dont listen to albums like i used to. Ive no patience any more. When I bought albums i didnt like i used to listen to them even more so Id end up liking them. Now even the ones i like only get a few plays before im bored.
