Alan Moore is a great writer. I also enjoyed his works V for Vendetta, Watchmen & League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Still need to read From Hell & Swamp Thing but I don't know when I'll get around to it

I tend to think mid 80s- mid 90s comics are the best. Most newer stuff is less dense and more superficial. Very few writers seem to be trying to compete with literature and are isntead content to over up warmed-over rejected screenplays.

Alan Moore's Swamp Thing is great.

    Sandman of course.

Love and Rockets has been running for 30 years and having recently finished collecting it all has some of the best comic stories I've ever read in it.

Planetary by Warren Ellis and John Cassady

The Metabarons by Alejandro Jodorowsky and Juan Gimenez...just read this and it's amazing. A must for someone that likes epic science fiction.

Grendel by Matt Wagner is super underrated.

I could keep going. Newer series that are dope would be East of West and Black Monday Murders by Jonathan Hickman. Satan, you would especially love Black Monday Murders.
