    Default Nas's second best album?

For me it's between Stillmatic and It Was Written

Stillmatic's highs are higher and lows lower while It Was Written was consistent

Smokin on Stillmatic is a waste of time and same for Black Girl Lost on It Was Written

Illmatic and it was written are the only 2 I ever got into. Not sure which I'd say is the better album.

Illmatic, Stillmatic and It was written are all classics to me.

2nd best probably It was written

I can't believe how some people don't dig Stillmatic

    Intro
    Ether
    Your da man
    One Mic
    2nd childhood
    The flyest
    Poison

    All amazing tracks

so many good albums, and his catalouge of unreleased material is unbelivable... his last disc "Life is Good" is actually one of his best albums - it's like full circle from "Illmatic", the kid grew up, looking back on his life, failures and accomplishments.. it's a really well rounded album and unfairly slept on by many people.. the flows on the entire disc is nuts, very well written lyrics, features both throw back tracks like "Loco Motive" and "Nasty", to autobiographical and very honest joints like "Daughters" and "Bye Baby" to intense storytelling tracks like "World's an Addiction" and "Queens Story".. the album is produced about 50/50 each by No ID and Salaam Remi respectively so it still got a consistant sound.. only dud is "Summer on Smash" (wtf lol) and suprisingly Buckwild's contribution didn't do anything for me. still a very solid album. you should really LISTEN to it though, take in all the music and every word..

but overall for completeness, id go with "It Was Written" too, but Nas got one of the best and most consistant discographies in hip-hop, no question

I actually think IWW lows are lower than Stillmatic's.

Stillmatic is a fuckin great album.

And I think Life Is Good is up there as well, I think thats his 4th best.

Illmatic > It was written OR Stillmatic (cant decide either) > Life Is Good > Gods Son

If Gods Son continued in the vein of the first four songs it would be a masterpiece, I still those opening 4 tracks are easily his best since Illmatic. It kinda falls flat after that bar one or two tracks.

I liked The Lost Tapes a lot. not a real album but imo a high quality collection. I think it flows well for not being a collection of songs written for one single project

IWW & Stillmatic are ace too, but really I like practically all his albums. Haven't given 'Distant Relatives' much time.

I Am and Nastradamous are atrocious. Untitled isn't much better. I always forget Lost Tapes damn that is a dope release. Hip hop is dead is worth a resist too. Very consistent album with some great tracks if nothing spectacular.
