Anybody questioning Missy's place in Hip Hop is delusional.
she's always been dope.
Missy lowkey has one of the most consistent and least dated catalogs in hip-hop.
But her lyrics are mostly silly or sexual and not tough or pseudo-intellectual enough and the beats are danceable, so people automatically write her off as not hip-hop.
People need to learn that there are different types of good lyrics. Just saying relatively big words fast is just one. Missy elliot's verses are classics and her songs are fun

That's one of my favorite videos you posted. Everybody just having fun tweaking lol Beat is fire, I like that extra sound Timbo added during the hook. He was always nice on production.
I remember her. She was nothing special though, decent for a female I guess but it was the production that was the best part

I liked her albums till Under Construction. After that she kinda fell off. Her and Timbaland are a great combo though. He laced her with heat. Missy brings the fun element of hip hop which I like.
I credit her, OutKast and Eminem for getting me into hip hop. Mind blowing stuff and she wrote some of the best R&B of the 90s.
I take Lauryn Hill over Missy fat ass anyday.

Missy is the embodiment of Hip Hop... from her choice of Production, Clothing, Lyrics and flow, the way her videos are built.
Missys' videos are up there with Bustas' in the 90s/00s..
Some guys don't like her lyrical content, but that's down to them. Missy is up there with the Goats of Hip Hop in my opinion.
Also, She hands down had some of the best production about on her albums. Regardless of liking what shes writing about and spitting.. some of those beats.. lord have mercy.. Timbaland was just killing it, Hit after Hit after Hit...
I'll still slam some missy tunes out of the car in the summer.. loud as fuck..
