    Default Martin Scorsese's "Silence"

Anyone else saw it in the theater? Amazing film that requires your patience and i think it almost needs to be seen on a big screen with 100% concentration (shut off your phone completely for example). i was truly blown away as i've been following Scorsese's career for years and seen everything he's done. this feels something like his lifework, his masterpiece and passion project.. many will hate it, many will love it, it's a film that makes you think and it conjured up some extremely interesting discussin between me and my mate after the film. things u rarely talk about, about faith, christianity, cultures colliding, martyrdom, and so much more.

Scorses is known for his excessive use of music in his films.. in keeping with the theme and title, there's only about 2-3 times i've heard a score used throughout the almost 3 hour length. again, brilliant film!

This went under my radar. Will have to check it out sometime.

I was just thinking the other day how I don't take time for movies anymore since I have my Netflix account. I do watch them but not with the same attention as before.

This flopped in theaters over here so was not out very long meaning I missed my chance. Will cop the dvd when out. Scorsese never disappoints. Fingers crossed The Irishman actually happens next. Peace

Such a brilliant and beautiful film, Scorsese reaching his Kurosawa mode here. Like many other films by Marty, the massive length of the film wasn't problematic at all and I didn't feel any drags in the narrative. Neeson's character had similar mysticism to him as Brando's Kurtz from Apocalypse Now. Definitely my favourite from his religion trilogy. Can't wait for The Irishman (And I hope they get Pesci out of retirement for that one!).

Great film! I will state that towards the ending, I was very upset when Andrew Garfield's character, Sebastião Rodrigues, did what he did.

Spoiler talk for anyone who is interested.
