    it was a great year for sure. the first year I really started checking for hiphop (I was sixteen), apart from a PE album I had heard earlier

    I never did check that Freestyle Fellowship album. I missed out on a lot of albums at first because of lack of funds (duh), but also cuz I was mostly checking for gangsta rap only. I wish I had had a broader interest back then but it was still a great introduction to rap

    btw been rediscovering a lot of ol skool lately (Big Daddy Kane, Boogie Down Productions etc), many gems from those late '80s too of course

    but yeah I think '93 is a great choice!

    I just listened to Vagina Diner By Akinyele for the first time yesterday. To my surprise it was also released in 93.

    Whole album was produced by Large Professor so I aint gonna say it No Moo

    ^lolz I used to own that CD back in the day. I actually can't remember it at all. Might DL it. I don't think I've ever seen it mentioned before.
