I knew a chick named manal that poured hydrogen peroxide down her cooch when it 'got itchy'. We concluded she had a painful yeast infection

Yo Cilva, what are thoughts about these other music/art/value -type of schemes that are currently put in practice by labels such as Daupe in UK or MC's like Mach Hommy or The God Fahim? Are you familiar with those?
Who in the Clan doesn't like/play chess?
Well, let's start with a record label called Daupe. They have this "quality over quantity" philosophy, which translates to tightly curated catalog of dope releases. The headhoncho of the label is this UK dude the Purist and according to him "Daupe don't sign artist, we partner with them". They release records in tape and vinyl in limited editions and sell them through bandcamp. Usually all Daupe releases are sold out in minutes. Daupe has made a promise to never repress their releases, so once they are sold out, they are rather expensive to acquire. Because the catalogue is tightly curated, people have learned to expect quality from them. So even though they release mostly underground shit, people have started to trust Daupe to offer dope rap. Of course a lot of this is made possible by the superb musical taste of the Purist, who has been able to dig up the most relevant new shit. Now some WSG/Conway vinyl releases for example are being sold at $500 through discogs.
And then the Mach Hommy/the God Fahim approach. They as well sell their shit through bandcamp, but the pricing is quite phenomenal. Rather than trying to sell their albums for a usual $10, they sell their albums (mp3s/cd's) for $777.77 or other amounts that seem quite ridiculous. But in some ways this has worked quite nicely. As Fahim once stated, he rather sells ten copies for $7777.77 than hundred copies for $1000. For some time, the complete God Fahim discocraphy was priced at $20.000 (mp3's!!!)... They don't offer their albums to streaming services nor are their albums usually available for streaming in bandcamp either, unless you have the bread that is.
In both examples, these tactics work, because the music that they offer is rather unique. Daupe is catering for special taste in hiphop and has been able to spot talented artists before they become established householdnames (Eminem signed Conway and Westside Gunn recently). The God Fahim & Mach Hommy are rising stars (at the moment your favourite rappers favourite rappers) who know their value and don't want to play with record labels.
^^interesting strategies, thanks for explaining. I was only familiar with Daupe's strategy before

Which is better Tangier or Marrakesh and why?
Marrakech... by far... cant explain it.. you gotta see it and then you'll understand.. if you like old, classic, mudbrick, redness, deserty, 1001 arabian nights feel, then Marrakech... if you like blue, whites, clean, beach, neon, clubs, ibiza feel, then Tangiers.
Ok follow up question. Top 5 must see/do things in Marrakesh?
