There's a free Amar Divine tape over there too. Amar works for GLF in various capacities (rapper, administration etc.) He's been featured on Cap's last few albums.
GLF Ent is Cappa's record company.

I should have added this mixtape is Pete Rock produced.
Had a quick listen last night while doing all kinds of chores and on first listen there's some good tracks on there. There's about 3 songs on there that were released earlier on as promos for the tape, so that leaves 9 brand new songs
the tape has no features. It's all cappadonna.
I'd have to give the tape another go this evening for a solid comment on the tape's quality.

That was a surprise the first time I heard it. An official Cappa X Pete Rock album would be solid.

Its hard to imagine cappaddona dropped a a classic debut in 98. I love that album.

it's always good to have some new material
there are still some mastering issues on the final product with the 'Party that never ends' track sounding much quieter than the others, the last track being very loud, also tracks that end abruptly, but hey it's a mixtape. it's no biggie
most of these beats are good. not exceptional (it's not an album), but definitely solid. I liked the simple yet effective beats on 'Dojo' and 'So bad' in the middle part of the tape for example. The following track 'Shaka Zulu' has a seventies blaxploitation movie sound to it, dope stuff with some scratching in there too
I'd be interested in finding out what samples Pete Rock used
Cappa is Cappa. not saying all that much. he sounded motivated and hungry on ABT imo, he was really giving it a go lyrically, those verses were good for his latter day output. on this tape he's not really saying anything. when he sums up some stuff from one to ten on 'Shaka Zulu' a few of the lines are lazy, just one example. he uses an on beat flow on this project though, most people would appreciate that (me too)
I lolled when Cap raped the chorus from 'Walk on by' for 'Walking down the street'
gotta commend Cap for releasing this for free and for going it dolo on this release
I'm on my third or fourth listen and see myself playing this again in the future, so job well done imo Cap
haven't listened to that Amar Divine tape yet. it has no song titles so if I post something on it later on in this thread, it'll be more of a general review of the whole tape

I'm genuinely astounded at how poorly this project has been handled/promoted.
It's a 12 track project by a Wu general - entirely produced by Pete Rock.... yet know one knows or cares about it.... Am I missing something?
The mixtape cover is an embarrassment. The website you download it from can't even spell the word "available" correctly.... and there is no mention of the fact this is produced by PETE FUCKING ROCK...

Tape bangs. Needs a re-release, touch of remastering and a tiny bit of promo.
Cappa - if you have a team helping you with this, drop them.
^ word, based on the lack of feedback this project has gotten and some of Cap's more recent projects i shrugged off this project without even listening. rectifying that now though.. this shit BANGS!! had this been mastered and mixed properly i'd say this is infinitely better than anything Cap has released since at least "The Pilgrimage"... had he dropped this under the name "The Pillage 2" i wouldn't have minded. Pete Rock went IN... SOUL BROTHER #1
