Default NaS - "I Gave You Power" (A Commentary by The RZA & Allah Mathematics)

"I seen some cold nights and bloody days
They grab me and bullets spray
They use me wrong so I sing this song 'til this day
My body is cold steel for real
I was made to kill, that's why they keep me concealed
Under car seats they sneak me in clubs
Been in the hands of mad thugs
They feed me when they load me with mad slugs
Seventeen precisely, one in my head
They call me Desert Eagle, semi-auto with lead"

One of RZA's top favorite moments of a lyricist in Hip Hop according to him:

Hell yeah. One of the dopest, most well written songs ever.

From beginning to end, you can practically smell the gun smoke and visualize ammunition load as one of QB's greatest lyricists takes you on a trip of danger

Read the cassette tape booklet lyrics before I ever even heard the song and that showed me why Nas was next level lyricist! Most rappers will talk about a gun but, being the supreme poet he is, Nas used personification for DEEP social commentary!

Based on "I Gave you Power" alone Nas will forever be relevant to HipHop!!

One of the best verses ever written. I think Rewind was his craziest moment when it came to concept songs.
