r.i.p. Johan D, Kaddu, Ricke a.k.a. "Slick Rick" and the rest of the fallen soldiers - you'll never be forgotten!
Turns out this is a Clan album after all!
De mijne is 4x duurder!
No ODB, U-God. GZA with one verse, MK & Rae with 2? Littered with Meth solos from another Math project? Not a Clan LP, never billed as one.
I don't think Wu should retire. They're actually still pioneering because they're the oldest rap group to still be relevant, fairly popular and working non stop.
And the law of diminishing returns is not unique to Wu-Tang, nor can they destroy their legacy. Did George Clinton destroy his legacy with weak releases? Or Black Sabbath? Or Depeche Mode etc? Fuck No, and every now and then those older artists come back with something great, and I don't think Wu is any different it just takes the right conditions.
In any case this is a decent Math LP. If they didn't try to market it as a Clan LP it would have gotten judged a lot less harshly but it also would have sold less and had less of an impact culturally so I don't blame them.
ive been thinking about this recently too. i used to think all these lame Wu releases the past 10 years, plus the OATIS fiasco was hurting their legacy but realized its actually untouchable. Wu-Tang is ingrained in pop culture at this point and only seems to get more popular
^^ BIG cosign ShaDynasty and Mumm Ra's posts! #wutangforever

wu could put out a polka album and they'd still hold the same spot in terms of legacy. 1993-1998 cemented their rep
snoop churns out about an album a year. some of them are pretty much meh. he'll always be the Doggfather though
the influence on popular culture and the first batch of untouchable records will always be there, no matter what
