^ nah i much rather hear Priest over these type of joints than much of the stuff DJ Wool laced him with in the beginning of their working relationship. the sound quality is a bit muffled on this though

daily updates: news, articles, reviews, the best compilations on the net. that true skool street hop!
r.i.p. Johan D, Kaddu, Ricke a.k.a. "Slick Rick" and the rest of the fallen soldiers - you'll never be forgotten!
this shit is so dope
taking it back to the grain
Meh......it's ok, I was kind of expecting a proper Priest/ 4th Reunion album.....kind of like Heavy Mental 2......with tracks similar to Tai Chi and stuff....
This is just basically Priest spitting over 80's hip hop break beats. It's more of a mixtape than a proper album.
Doesnt sound like any original 4th beats on here, just re-used 80's breaks
"A SPACE KNIGHT LIKE ROM, CONSUME PLANETS LIKE UNICRON, BLASTIN' PHOTON BOMBS FROM THE ARM LIKE GALVATRON......"
Love both these guys but that album sucks.. Weird as shit
guess I'm in the minority here....
I'm loving this album
Priest flows are crazy... the lyrics continue to be fire, bringing that sci-fi/mystic perspective he advanced on "Planet of the Gods"
the old school 80s vibe is a nice refresher of rap's origins and the break-beat pace brings a revitalized energy to all the emcees
Ghost solo joint "Rokit" is the best I've heard him in years.... sounds exactly like what you'd expect the DoomStarks project to sound like:
Rae's flow is monstrous on his feature
I know it's not what you'd expect from a 4th & Priest collab, but it's as close to the grain of raw hip hop as anything Wu has put out lately .... And it does sound like it's a mixtape ("Volume 1" and some of the shoutouts mention it's a mixtape)
goddamn flames.
This album sucks big time
Beats are super wack
I dont want to hear any artist on these type of beats
Should of took it back the essence gave people what they want
it's a concept project... look at the style of the cover; and the name of the mixtape. C'mon people - this isn't supposed to sound like Heavy Mental.
They actually did bring it back to the real essence. How one likes hop hop but doesnt't like old school style beats is interesting.
And it was labeled a mixtape why people are complaining it's not an album is also pretty funny.
Anyway it was pretty great, especially for a mixtape. Really nice seeing them mix it up and do something fun like this
wtf two new priest projects and both are flame wtf!!!!!!! year is this so far 4 dope wu projects!!!!!!!!
I have no problems with this release. Priest has given us numerous "regular" releases in recent time. So I am good with this being different. I like the tempo of it. And for the unhappy I saw on 4th's Instagram that he n Priest have a "studio" album on the way. Peace
finally listening on some shitty earbuds at work and this album is funky as fuck
i bet this will make a great cruising in the car album
can't believe some people were hatin
I had written out a long comment / review for this tape but it seems it got lost in the shuffle. I think this is an excellent Mixtape front to back, really taking it back to the essence. Its everything a real old school mixtape the way its supposed to sound. Chemistry off the with 4th and Priest channeling the NYC/ohio projects they gew up on.
4th once again show off his versatily on the production tip and the way Priest shifts between vintage mysticism rhymes and feel good club rhymes for the old school heads. Just take a joint like KP Supreme A and B, the latter flipping one of my all time favofite breaks to great effect. And then you have the concept thats obviously very thought out, striving to make it sound like a late 80s mixtape. Hence the material, tape soundquality, etc.
And if, as it sems, this is just a teaaer mixtape of 2 setting up the release of an official album. The replay value is high so dont sleep and PLEASE DONT SIT ON THE SPEAKERS.
artwork is lame as is the title.
will get around to this later. not in the mood right now.
Tape bangs. Priest, Rae and Ghost kill it.
Has 4th ditched "The Adept" as a monkier now? saw he was credited as that on the Sean Price album...
Anyway, great to hear Priest on these kind of beats for a change. He sounds energized.
Hope 4th and Priest drop a proper "Wu" album soon. This tape is just warmup.
