Ma$e sounds good here. Cam'Ron fucked his own sister?
The new Cam LP is pretty good too. Its a shame that Ma$e screwed up his career so horribly, but then I'm not sure he makes much sense as an artist outside of the jiggy era.
Harlem World is classic but its Pop Rap, depends if you like Puffy and all that goofy shit. Ma$e was dope and really influential looking back, theres several rappers whose rap styles owe a huge debt to him.
Ma$e's Harlem World is the best out of all the pop rap albums out there imo. The beats while poppy /rnb-ish still cater to a hiphop audience. There are many features but nobody feels out of place on the album. And Ma$e's flow on there was engaging to me. (Some feel his delivery is monotonous. I'm not in that camp.) The only terrible song is the one where he croons with 112.
His other 2 solo albums tried to strike the same balance between pop and rap but there was definitely something OFF there.
Cam's 'Come Home With Me' album and his debut album 'Confessions of Fire' fall into the same category as Ma$e's 'Harlem World' imo.
noel you could also check out Cam'Ron's 'Purple Haze'. I love that album! It's an oddball classic lol.
Noel, if you haven't heard Mase then Harlem World is a good start, but also check out Children of the Corn with Mase, Cameron, Digga, Bloodshed and Big L. That might but up your ally a little more and is uncompromisingly doper than Harlem World.
This diss track and is fire lol. Looking forward to Cam'Ron's response. I'm kinda lukewarm about dipset coming back, Juelz is a complete fiend now and has the fiend lisp and everything. Him rapping about selling crack would be ironic and sad.
^I never fuxed with any of those dipset or diplomats or neptunes or whatever the fuck. I don't know if they're all related or even exist, but that's what I mean. I just never fuxed wit' that whole thing. I remember in '05 or so there was some really forgettable album by some cunts I think called The Clipse, and everybody was raving about it and calling it album of the year, so I dl'ed it and listened maybe once or twice and it was just entirely forgettable. I don't remember a single thing about it now. But that was enough for me to stay away from that whole scene.
I remember when I posted about how forgettable that album was, at the thyme, some guy told me how 'un-street' I was, mega lolz. One of my all thyme top memories from this site, lolz.
