Default The reasons why I appreciated RZA so much

I think The RZA is the GOAT for many reasons. For example his job between 1993 and 1997 was just pure gold. He produced so many dope beats it’s just crazy! Some of them are just unreal! A friend of mine who had become a huge wu fan said in 1996 that he didn’t know where RZA find his incredible inspiration. He thought RZA was connected to another dimension. Even Quentin Tarantino knew the difference between RZA and Bobby Digital and he wanted RZA to score his movie Kill Bill. I love many RZA's beats (more than hundred) but for some reasons these ones are my favorite ones.

Wu tang clan - 7th chamber part II (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OUWxw9UWFI): The first time I listened to this beat I said WTF. I had never heard something like that in hip hop. This beat transports me in another dimension. According to me this beat is the shaolin style. The first wu beat that really impressed me.

RZA - Samurai Showdown (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYorWVrr63E): One of my favorite RZA beat. The beat was just perfect! When RZA is at this level nobody can fuck with him. I don’t know how many times this beat was used. I have listened to this song tons of times.

Raekwon feat Blue Raspberry and Tony Starks - Rainy days (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGlJeDmq50Q) : No word to describe how dope this beat is. My favorite RZA beat. The way he produced this one… The croaks, the thunder, the snares, the samples, Blue Raspberry… A classic one.

Wu tang clan - Reunited (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgxyP4ykjvs): This beat proves to what point he was a great producer. If I remember correctly many violinists worked with RZA. It seems that RZA whistled the tune and let the violinist did his shit. He said that somewhere. This shit is pure genius. Many white dudes in France (where I lived then) loved this song and it is not difficult to know why.

Inspectah Deck, U-God, & Streetlife - Semi-Automatic: Full Rap Metal Jacket (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxaMgyMt0cs): Many wu fans I know didn’t even know this incredible song. By far one of my favorite RZA’s beat. Dark, dirty, epic and so wuesque!

Method Man f/ RZA, Inspectah Deck, Streetlife, Carlton Fisk, & Blue Raspberry "Mr. Sandman" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dumqStn1oQY) : This why I think The RZA in Rzarectah mode was connected to the dark side. These beats could be so dark, it was really impressive. One of my favorite beat, with all these noises and Blue Rasp…. A perfect beat for a horror movie chase. As someone says it’s one of the most frightening songs ever. Every rapper came as a beast on this beat.

GZA feat Ghostface Killah, Killah Priest and RZA – 4th chamber (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohrGUOM5n_E): Another jewel from The RZA. This dude came into so many chambers. The rock and roll fans I knwow absolutely love it. One of them said that it wasn’t a hip hop beat it was beyond that!

Raekwon feat Method Man, Masta Killa, RZA and Ghostface Killah – Wu gambinos (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcEG5PVOuq0): RZA in Mafioso style! Each time one of my friends listens to this beat he says that it reminds him of young desperate soldiers who go to war.

Ghostface killah feat Raekwon and Cappadonna – Ironmaiden (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEJhJo0uy9c) : Another incredible beat. I absolutely love the way RZA mixed and arranged the beat. RZA said in interview that the movement is an important thing in his beats. His beats are really alive they almost tell a story. His style was cinematic-quality shit.

RZA feat. Xavier Naidoo - Ich Kenne Nichts (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DjH1wAp1M0): Rza shows his diversity again. This song was a hit in Germany. I know many americans don’t even know this song. 2 versions of this song, one is in English with a short RZA verse (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2GEoTO0igI).

RZA – Flying birds (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rpqI15ZkIk): One of my friend said that when he listened to this beat he thought he was flying…

RZA produced so many dope beats I couldn’t list them all. The way he produced then was brilliant so I can’t understand why some of his soldiers are mad. They couldn’t be blessed with their de facto leader best job. One of my friends, a wu fan I converted thinks that RZA used subliminal sounds. We know his beat has multiple layers. Even years after they released some listeners discovered new shits in RZA's beats. Like the beat of this song “for heaven’s sake” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMwGLeioCOo) we can hear “wu” every 2 seconds if you listen carefully. Yeah RZA wasn’t human when he became human he lost many fans !

Cool, bro. Keep vibin' to that isht. Rza is def the all thyme goat hip hop producer to this listener for his run from 36 up to forever alone. But still produced bucket loads of great shit after that. Dude took a different path in life in later years, but that doesn't detract from what he did in the past.

Actually didn't even recognise a couple of the titles u mentioned. Will have to click those links some thyme for a refresher or maybe even something new to this listener.

Yeah I think for some reasons he has changed but he has a wide-reaching cultural heritage. I like many hip hop producers like Primo, Havoc, Dj Muggs, Peter Rock, J Dilla (RIP), Easy Mo Bee, Da Beatminerz, Madlib ... but RZA is my very favourite.

Rza does not have ideas he has visions, that he strives to make it work.

Yeah the dude produced many dope beats. If I remember correctly Puffy treated him like dirt. It's a shame ! If he joined the wu elements back then it would have been dope !

i think RZA 1993 to 1999 was top notch. Then other opportunities came along & clan members doing there own thing. But still my top fav producers for sure
