SMH @ how weak & deprived of their magic those beats sound when played with live instruments.

    ^ true. Ain't nothing like 60/70s samples

Also, fuck this. Yeah it doesn't sound nearly as strong or potent as the original beats, but it's just a one off and it's cool as fuck as something different and more intimate. It's a whole fucking hell of a lot more interesting and appealing than if there'd just been a fucking dj there spinning the original beats.

On point. The biggest reason hip hop live albums mostly are a joke is the lack of instruments to make it sound different from the records. Check out the recently released Nas Illmatic live at The Kennedy Center for a sick take on a classic.

These NPR Tiny Desk Concert is the shit. The one with Dj Premier was insane.

Yeah it's cool cos it's just a drummer and the horn section, so it's a really different sound. Loved it.

In the comments some faggots were talking about that Kenneth Lamer guy, or whatever the fuck he is, and maybe another faggot or two, and saying how their albums were better than Liquid Swords. Is that just typical dumb shit internet talk, or are those albums actually worth checking out? Obviously the comparison to LS is utterly ridiculous, but just wondering if any of that shit is worth a listen since these faggots seem to think there's grounds for comparing them.

Kendrick? all of his albums are mediocre at best to me, none of his albums are remotely comparable to LS. I've heard about 2 songs of his I like

Fucken hilarious dudes who grow up with shit like Kane West n 50 scent n this lamer guy n whatever other throwaway shit kids listen to these days, n actually have the nerve to think it's ok to say that dime a dozen forgettable shit is comparable to timeless classic, pinnacle of hip hop shit.

I'm glad I don't browse any hip hop shit on the Net other than this site, cos I don't think I could really deal with that shit.

How do you not who Kendrick Lamar is on the first line, and confident that comparing his albums to liquid swords is ridiculous on like the 3rd depending on your screen size?

He's a really good rapper and makes good albums. Though they don't have replay value imo, and his voice is nasal which a lot of ppl don't like. But there's grounds to compare them and saying kendrick is better isn't a stretch. Gza is one of the best but his deficits are obvious
