God no. Nas and Swizz Beatz have absolutely no chemistry whatsoever. It is always an utter debacle every time that they collaborate. Have they not figured this out yet!!??
Yeah good point David. Swizz Beatz is hit or miss, and in general his sound doesn't fit Nas.
RZA is hit or miss these days too, so we'll have to wait and see. I would like to hear Nas on more RZA beats, their collaborations over the years always felt natural. Even on the last Nas LP some of the beats like 'White Label' and 'Adam & Eve' had that RZAish vibe that made them highlights.
IDK maybe it has to do with the energy in their voices. X is high octane, Nas is more subdued. I think Swizz' synth riffs (lol you know what I mean) match better with forceful delivery. Like, theoretically speaking, I think Swizz Beats and M.O.P. would make a good match. Just my 2 cents lol.
I was doing some research and Swizz Beatz says he has an unreleased Nas album entirely produced by him. Looks like something might finally top Nastradamus as Nas' worst album if that ever gets released.
Nas is weird lol. Is it that he has beef with Pete Rock and co or what? lol
I think he's still chasing a radio hit. Which is stupid because these guys don't make hits anymore.
Rza....horrible move. I'm actually more interested in the album he was supposed to do with Khalid than this.
Nas has had about six or seven radio hits in his career. How much more does he want? That is waaaaay more than most hip hop artists have.. I Can was his last radio hit, at least to me. That was the last time I remember hearing any Nas song everywhere.
combine that with Nas' ability to pick shitty beats lol. joking aside, it's still hard not to hope for a dope RZA beat knowing what he's capable of, or maybe he brings out an old beat from his stash. He gave Earl Sweatshirt a pretty good beat on his album, albeit 5 years ago
