This weekend, Your Old Droog shared a surprise new project with It Wasn't Even Close, his fourth studio album, dropped off without warning.

The new effort finds the Coney Island rapper sparring with the best of them as Wiki, Mach-Hommy, and even DOOM make appearances on the project. The new album is a solid follow up to 2017 's PACKS, the project that followed years of so many Droog and Nas comparisons that many began to suspect the two men were actually the same person. While the rumor was debunked, it's worth noting that Close happens to coincide with the 25th anniversary of Illmatic."

I'm not 'hating' or trying to b a prick or anything, but wtf does 'your old droog' mean? I've seen that name on here before n it's always stuck with me. Actually I was saying it to myself just the other day. Wtf does it mean?

Droog means friend in russian. YOD's family emigrated to the USA from Ukraine when he was 4 years old. (from wikipedia)
