Default As Bobby Digital (In Stereo) Instrumenals

    Ayo,

Looking at the back of the CD and I forgot it mentioned that the instrumentals would be released. Did this ever actually happen or is it like The Cure?

The first two bobby albums were classics.

Do not feel bad Grune, Fourth Disciple's Another Winter blew up my speakers and made me have to purchase a new home stereo. Wu Elements got those speaker destroying bangers

Oh man don't remind me of that cd back cover and inlet. Throwing false promises all over the place... I was so hyped the day I got that cd (same day as T2). Reading that the Cure was coming soon... now with 20 years hindsight that fake ad was the ultimate kick in the balls.
Don't get me wrong, Bobby Digital is a great album, but I was disappointed and let down... the album was far from.my expectations. Foolish I know. However, the reason for this was because in 1997 we got Tragedy and Sunshower. Two amazing joints. This coupled with his verses on Triumph, Duck Season, and his work on Pick, Sickle and Shovel - had my anticipation through the roof for Rza's solo. I was expecting that calibre of material. I had no clue that Bobby Digital was some indulgent narcissistic way for Rza to explore a different sonic trajectory. All I saw was that Rza's solo was finally out, and I was expecting tracks the quality of Tragedy.
Hence my dissatisfaction on the first listen to Bobby Digital. I have since grown to appreciate the album for what it is. Nevertheless, Bobby Digital will always be a bittersweet listen for me.
That fucking advert for The Cure is a cruel kick in the teeth though because in his interviews at the time Rza said that The Cure would be his real solo venture... with the hallmark Rza sound, Wu guests, and Rza spitting his most intricate bars - dense with knowledge.
Two decades on, that Rza solo - the one that the fans truly deserve, still eludes us... and forever will.

Has Rza ever given any kind of explanation for why it never dropped? Was is label/sample issues or he just is holding onto it?

Well said! I know how you feel. So mad the Cure never came out. Fuck the Dreddy Kruger version.

    Greetings,
In past interviews have read that it was written and super conscious/righteous. However since Bobby wasnt fully living out ideals of the writting he felt insincere to release it.

I thought I was the only one who felt that. At first listen I didn't understand at all the Bobby Digital thing. Even though I question the bobby digi thing in the being but there is something about it that was good, it just wasnt rza.

Cilvaringz must have heard the "real" Cure album.

I think there were even a few tracks from The Cure, that were mentioned in various interviews. I can recall 'Alphabet Soup', '99 Attributes of Allah', being cited as standout tracks, sorry can't remember the others.
I think he mentioned back in the early noughts that the album was completed, but he was contemplating releasing it as a book. Not sure if The Tao of Wu is that, probably not.
Num2son makes a good point - if anyone in the Wu camp has heard it in its entirety is Cilva. He spent a lot of time in the mid-noughts with Rza on tour and a trip to Egypt. At that time, Rza trusted Cilva more than most in his camp.
Stands to reason the student would have had the privilege of hearing the Abbott's magnum opus.
Well Mr Ringz, can you elaborate on this? Have you heard all or any of The Cure, and what are your thoughts?

Did we have a poll on this site to release:
    A. In Stereo Instrumentals
    B. In Stereo 5.1 Mixing (Which after listening to Amon Tobin - Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory on DVD-Audio seems like a fucking insane idea. Love it.)
    C. bobby digial The Movie

Have seen none of the above. Only read about the movie being screened once in a blue moon in the States.

I wanna see the Bobby Digital movie with German dubs, like that SKIT on the In Stereo album. Preferably with dubs that only half match the original lines, like Iron Fist Pillage.

Yeah, I'm a freak like that.

German dubs and a Ghanese film poster, that African skit is actually Ghanese. I never finished Iron Fist Pillage. Had a dvdrip, but cant find that one atm.
