S.O.S. is my personal best song on this album. I must have rewound that song hundreds of times.

Going at Kool Keith on this? Now I gotta go back and analyze the lyrics a little better cuz that never crossed my mind. And I have no problem with Clan and Army being on track together. If anything I woulda liked to see more of this in the 90s. Peace

At the time Kool Keith made it clear he thought Rza was imitating him with the whole Bobby Digital persona.
The actual beef stems from the UMC days and beef he had with Rza during the rise of the Gravediggaz.
Again, KK was bitter as he felt that he created Horrorcore.
Most of the vitriol is on KK's side. He went at Doom too. He was butt-hurt about rappers with masks as he felt that he originated the mask/multi-persona thing. He may have been an originator, but at the time he just came across as a butt-hurt has-been, that was bitter about the burgeoning success of his peers.

Not sure what the actual beef was about, but it goes waay back when, perhaps even when Rza was managed by Melquan.

Interesting! Thanks for adding on this info/perspective! Will relisten now w this context in mind...

PS Did KK release diss songs? Are there any more tracks that reflect this conflict/beef?

I see it all makes sense now. Rember Kook Keith also had a group album named Analog Brothers released in the 2000 real dope album to be honest.

    This.
Only a few years ago Hip Hop purists may have felt superior listening to hard core while their less enlightened companions snacked on commercial rap. As Shaolin research began to point out the overwhelming benefits of raw production, true hip hop enthusiasts started turning back to traditional styles. Wu-Tang in particular, has been shown to myriad beneficial effects, from warding off ignorance and poverty to reducing the risk of incarceration and death.

I think yall have ya times off

this song dropped before bobby digital ever came out. This is prolly the first bob digi song released actually. How they dissing for something said that didnt happen yet?

keith put that ad in his dr doom album that came out 99. Analog bros was in 2000. This song is 97/98, ob digi is 98

99 is when i saw keith making those comments, never before that. Certainly not for gravediggaz.

so this song being a diss track is a reach imo as the analog bros did not exist to be dissed when it was recorded.

Bobby digital always dissed analog, thats why keith took the name.

Btw. Keith dissing rza was always a reach to me. Rza was on his 4th name when keith dropped dr. Octagon.... far as gravediggaz shit i never heard him say that. Ive heard him say bobby digital was spacey sounding like octagon. but lyrically they are night and day from each other.

obviously they good now. Keith was on rzas album with the white guy.

I always wondered why Cappadonna said "do damage to the wannabe Flipmode and Def Squad" on '97 Mentality and if they ever stepped to him over that
