My personal favourite Gang Starr album is Hard To Earn - you could tell they meant business with that one.

I actually think it's underrated...but to each their own

MOT is dope but it gets boring to listen to in one go. I play those songs randomly whereas I've broken out the other albums more often to play start to finish.

Every track on Hard To Earn is perfect. The Ownerz is a dope listen as well, I like the shorter songs from Guru and the crisp production Premier used.

the new single is dope. j. cole's verse goes on for ages though. keep your guest verses short and sweet, son

the beat on that posner track was solid but not too remarkable. posner sounds like he got touched as a kid but that's a different discussion

I believe there's potential for a good 'new' GS album. The Ownerz didn't have too much replay value for me tbh. hiiiiney

their 'Full Clip' double album retrospective might just be the best single artist / group compilation album in rap history

    This is out. Listening now.

Its okay I guess. I like a few tracks but a lot of it is underwhelming or half formed. You've got a lot of C-grade Guru verses, a mixed bag of Premo beats, and some undeserving guest features.

The Gang Starr foundation members do a good job though.

It's a really great album and a worthy addition to their discography. Premier done a brilliant job of putting this album together and it's great hearing Guru over his beats again. It's as though they made the album together. My only 'negative' about it is that the album is a bit short but that's largely due to what Premier had to work with in terms of Guru's verses.
