As “Power” continues to wrap its sixth and final season, the series’ spinoff is adding a few Hollywood heavy hitters to its lineup.

Grammy award-winning rapper-turned-actor, Method Man, has officially landed a lead role in “Power Book II: Ghost,” opposite his longtime musical collaborator Mary J. Blige.

In a brief interview with Baller Alert, the Wu-Tang Clan rapper expressed his excitement to collaborate with Blige, who he credits for the success of his solo career, thanks to her vocals on his remix to “All I Need.” When asked how he felt about working with Blige again, he said, “it’s fire,” using the fire emoji.

Elsewhere in the interview, Meth opened up about how he landed the role, revealing that he auditioned, despite his extensive acting resume.

The rapper will play David MacClean, a “brilliant, ethically challenged,” lawyer, who “is drawn into our world on multiple axes, a world riddled with murder and drugs, where the only thing he’s really addicted to is winning,” according to Starz.

But when it comes to Method’s plans for 2020, he revealed that he is most excited to see his people flourish in the new year. “More Black excellence in 2020,” he said.
