Great film! I love it from the beginning to end. I will warn you that this movie is 2hr 57mins long. With that being said, be prepared to be wowed. The movie starts off slow but gradually speeds up. The one thing that I didn't like was how Bats/Bruce moved slow when he wasn't in a fight. Too theatrical in my opinion. Other than that, you'll enjoy it.

This film is not an origin story.

I'm waiting for my buddy because I'd rather go with a friend than alone. it could be a while, he's way busier than I am. I'm thinking first half of April, when we both have a holiday

It's going down on Thursday for me ... finally!

Great use of 'Something in the way'. I read it's topping Spotify.

Great start and both appropriately dark and entertaining in the 'looking for clues' kind of way but ultimately maybe 20 minutes or so too long. I'm not talking about the grand finale itself, I just means the whole thing feels longish.

Still one of the best Bat movies I've seen and very good use of music including the Nirvana motif.

I did not find Pattinson that convincing in the Bruce Wayne scenes with emotional content tbh.

The movie was incredible , pat ribbingson did well as year 2 batman and mirrored him to a tee as the comic book character should be , unsure , angry, still trying to figure out what his place in Gotham is . The whole detective noir style approach to the movie was refreshing , this is what we batmanites want , finally a director who isn’t afraid to go into batmans vast bag of content and do something different with the character . The cinematography was just insane . I think my fav shots was him in the bat cave with the bat mobile just parked behind him, like the menacing vehicle it is . So dope but here’s what my fav part of this movie is..

for the first time BATMAN DID NOT WIN!!
he ultimately got entangled in a mindfuck twisted game against someone just as intelligent as he is and realized the whole time he wasn’t helping solve cases , he was part of plan by riddler .such a great nod to many of the comic book stories where he infact sometimes doesn’t end up with a happily ever after story .

matt reeves batman universe is a breath of fresh air . Look forward to what’s next .

Sucks that we didn't get to see the good side of Bruce Wayne. I will admit that I didn't like how Bats was slow moving at first. The cops just kept testing him and Bats always remain clam.

i liked this film and enjoyed it as a batman fan boy but i thought this was really just all right at the end of the day.

there are so many positive things going on but just a few things that i didnt care for.

mainly, the way the riddler talks. he's always been my favorite villian since the animated series. and he really came off as an angsty guy fawkes anon virgin. and then the final scene, i couldnt stand the yelling screaming whining of his words.

but i guess it paired very well with the bratty pattinson batman. whom i love as an actor btw. very good looking guy and i dont think that is up for debate.

i also was not particularly fond of Kravitz as Catwoman. she just didnt do it for me. and she didnt even get naked on screen for the role at all. and in this day and age there is no excuse not to. i just wasnt buying anything about her or her character. they should have casted some one sexier.

i also heavily agree with Hal. my god this movie was 20 to 30 minutes longer than it should have been. i am surprised they let this through as the final cut. if it was shorter like an hour and a half total everything would have hit harder and i think more people would have left the theater wanting more and not being able to wait for the next one.

instead i left the theater glad that it was finally over. i looked at my phone two times to check the time... because i thought the movie had came to an end but no, i was wrong, half hour/forty minutes later the movie finally ended.

if i had to guess they are doing this to compete with the length of the marvel superheroes movies.

idk what the problem is with shorter movies nowadays, there is nothing wrong with an hour and a half long film. there was once a time where every movie was under two hours... now every movie is really pushing that 3 hour mark it seems... and i can only name a few that really work out for themselves. Lynch and Scorsese come to mind off the top. so dont get me wrong, im not opposed to long films, that are warranted of the running time.

    idk.

kind of unsure what the point of casting Colin Ferrel as penguin when he really only had 10 maybe 15 minutes screen time and is unrecognizable... ticket sales i suppose.

and a black James Gordon kind of threw me off guard but i think the guy played it well i suppose.

despite all of this it was def a breath of fresh air for the franchise.

i think Pattinson will turn into an even better bratman for the second one. i truly think that this sets down some great ground work for Reeves moving forward. i wouldnt even be surprised if the Riddler doesnt return on the next one. and we see some all new villains.

they are supposedly doing a couple shows for HBO Max. one with Ferrel as Penguin and i was reading a GQ interview with Pattinson that he, Pattinson, has been writing for a Batman show for HBO Max as well.

i cant see how the penguin show isnt going to be anything like the tv show Gotham, which was fucking phenomenal by the way, but we shall see.

its a shame Ben Affleck's batman was so short lived.
