Thread: List Your Instruments

  1. #1

    Default List Your Instruments

List the instruments, samplers, sequencers, software plugins DAWs etc. you use if you are a producer.

If you are an MC then list your favorite microphone, the kind of booth setup you prefer, what you use to write lyrics,

Interested in what producers are using and I've been researching microphones so wondering if MC's carry a preferable one around or just spit into whatever is available.

Damn man you don't have any kind of drum machine or sampler ? Just a mic and a computer? Well. You gotta work with what you got. Right?

I just bought a IK Uno Synth for $140, and the wordclock expansion for my MPC 4000 for more than I should have paid...

I went on some tangent looking for which VST best replicated a real Fender Rhodes. Lots to choose from.

Wu-Tang already does that. They throw a W on joint papers, hand sanitizer, masks and then sell it to suckers.

I just bought a Korg DSS-1. Old synth/sampler from 1986. 4 bit up to 12 bit sampling. Analog filter. Can use it to process audio signal like my ASR-10.

Its sampling features are limited. I can probably sample one off drum hits. It has built in dual delays.

They sell for cheap. I'd argue they are as powerful and good sounding as E-MU emulators, Emax, Mirage, Roland W-30's, etc but often sell for less. Shipping is a lot though since they are huge and heavy.

Another slept on sampler/synth is the Kurzweil K2xxx series. I see them selling for ridiculously cheap prices. I bought both my K2500's for less than $300 and spent some more on expansions. Also got a K2000RS for less than $200 couple years ago.

I'm working on wiring up some gotek floppy emulators. Holler at me if anyone needs some assistance getting one set up.
