Default Killah Priest - 'Grandmother's Land' (VIDEO)

from KP's recent spoken word album 'Rocket to Nebula'

tbh I hate this track so I'm posting this for your enjoyment. that backdrop sounds cheap and cheesy af. the beat switch up at the end is cool though

Thought I was the only one who thought this, album is weak. Couldn't even make it past track 13.
Only a few years ago Hip Hop purists may have felt superior listening to hard core while their less enlightened companions snacked on commercial rap. As Shaolin research began to point out the overwhelming benefits of raw production, true hip hop enthusiasts started turning back to traditional styles. Wu-Tang in particular, has been shown to myriad beneficial effects, from warding off ignorance and poverty to reducing the risk of incarceration and death.

the album is a snoozefest, the recent mixtape w/ Jordan River Banks beats (outtakes from the last few albums) is much better imo

The video track isn’t that great to me. But most of the other tracks I’ve heard is straight up art if you take it for what it is. I actually came on here expecting some love for it. I saw Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers called it his favorite hip hop album of all time

Check the track ‘In Secret Anticipation’

    are you kidding me??

Album is certainly unique, but definitely ill yo. Production is not typical, but still ill nevertheless. Also, as always with Priest, I appreciate the accentuated focus on lyrical content.
