This list is missing lots of his newer stuff. You can find some of his newer stuff listed here" https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0930782/ I'm not going to copy and paste that list because beyond 2009 it seems only very commercial acts could afford him to do their videos. A bunch of Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, Puff Daddy videos I don't care for.

Some of those Busta Rhymes videos were super creative. The Busta Rhymes ones are my favorite. Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See even has elephants in it! Choreography, costumes, sets, beautiful women, black lights....the video is art.

I watched an interview with MOP and they said they basically kidnapped Hype Williams back in '94 put him in the car told him to call his camera crew we're filming a video today LOL. That was the M.O.P. - How About Some Hardcore video.

There's a youtube playlist that is supposed to take you on a videography tour of all his directed hip hop videos but lots of videos have been removed. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...A129246A891525

During the 90's, if you could release a single and have Hype Williams produce a video for it, it was a guaranteed hit. His first full length movie I know of is Belly. I heard he was going to do more movies but couldn't find any info on full length movies he's directed since.

If you have a favorite hip hop video director other than Hype Williams, feel free to share and post here. Or tell us which Hype Williams video you think was his best work.

One thing I didn't mention is how I think that Busta Rhymes video is influenced by Eddie Murphy's Coming To America, which is a classic movie ...probably Eddie Murphy's best movie.

I didn't realize just how many he directed. Some of my favs include the ones he did for Busta, Nas, LL Cool J, Mase, BIG, Missy & Dre

I always thought Diddy's Been Around The World (great vid imo) wad by Hype too but apparently it was by some guy called Paul Hunter

If I had to single out specific vids Flava In Ya Ear RMX, Avenues, Hey Lover, If I Ruled The World & Shimmy Shimmy Ya would be my favorites on the list. Special mention for 'Sunshine' where the vid works despite (because of?) the ridiculous outfits

I love his videos, he knows how to match the music vibes perfectly. Watching Busta Rhymes and Missy videos as a 10 year old was mind blowing, he just blew everything up into the most exciting out there visuals.

Was going to post Masta IC, but the video quality is shit. That's a great vid though, really dusty and trippy.

One of my fondest memories I had with my father was trying to explain Da Brat's verse to him on Sock It To Me.

Benny Boom's first video, Channel Live's Wild Out 2K is twenty years old. My favorite of his is 50 Cent's Just A Lil Bit.

Yeah I liked that 50 song, it was real hypnotic, even though its not the typical style I was into back then.

Yeah, it was. Produced by Trackmasters (Poke & Tone). They also produced Method Man breakups to Make ups and are credited on Wu-Tang - Back in the Game which is one my favorite tracks off Iron Flag. https://www.discogs.com/artist/121765-Trackmasters

Total put down a sexy hook on that LL track.

    Big Pimpin' classic Hype Williams
    It's Mine Mobb Deep
Only a few years ago Hip Hop purists may have felt superior listening to hard core while their less enlightened companions snacked on commercial rap. As Shaolin research began to point out the overwhelming benefits of raw production, true hip hop enthusiasts started turning back to traditional styles. Wu-Tang in particular, has been shown to myriad beneficial effects, from warding off ignorance and poverty to reducing the risk of incarceration and death.
