Borat is one in only two movies that I witnessed any big crowd reaction in cinemas for. And I go see a lot of movies. The movie had me in stitches too.
The other one that got a lot of crowd reaction was 'The Conjuring' (totally different genre obviously), but that one was when I was abroad (NZ), maybe crowd reaction is a normal occurence there.
I'd definitely check out Borat 2. It'll be hard to top the first one, though.
i thought the main premise of the first movie was that some scenes were supposed to be of people being tricked into thinking the character was real. what is the premise of the second movie going to be when the majority know who he is, except for maybe where hal lives with the people that don't have tv's. the actor who plays borat is a typical hollywood liberal who has tds. with so many people offended about the dumbest things in recent years, i wonder how many will be offended by this new movie
Tell my Moldavian ass what tds is.
Valid point about people being tricked into thinking Borat was real. I guess actors' reactions will be scripted. Hell, some of them maybe were for the first one too.
The last movie was 15 years ago. There's a whole generation of people who don't know him, plus all the people who don't watch comedy. They probably shot hundreds of hours to get the job done.
I vividly remember the cringe when I saw Borat coming out of the toilet with his shit in a plastic bag
Great news! 1st one's a classic.
Update: The title of the sequel is officially Borat: Gift of Pornographic Monkey to Vice Premiere Mikhael Pence to Make Benefit Recently Diminished Nation of Kazakhstan.

hahaha kickass title!
Why they gotta go after Mike Pence? The guy is a good, wholesome dude.
How can people still fall for it though? Surely when he sets up meetings to interview people someone must know who Borat is.
Not everybody watches comedy movies or cares about pop culture in general, especially the conservative americans that he tends to goof on for stuff.
Also this is a possible rumor I read: Borat will actually be trying to disguise himself in the movie because he's too famous.
Ha the disguise thing would be a nice touch
Retired.
