Yeah Scorsese is fantastic at it. Tarantino may have surpassed him in terms of matching scenes perfectly with pieces of music. Jackie Brown, OUATIH, etc. There's certain songs where I immediately think of the scene where the song was used when I hear them.

I watched a film recently called The Last Days Of Disco which is a banger. The soundtrack is obviously all disco, it's not really used to underscore the story (although maybe I just didn't pick up on it) as most of the movie takes place in a nightclub. Great soundtrack though if you like disco, and an amusing film too.

The movie Kids also has a great use of 90s Hip Hop, and I think a bit of grunge. The connection between the 2 is that Chloe Sevigny catches VD in both movies.

    Iconic

It's not official but someone dubbed Gimme Shelter over the helicopter scene and imo it's infinitely better

both the show and the Blue Oyster Cult track left a great impression on me. I must have been 15 or so when I saw this mini series

just now noticed the opening scene is on YT

'Mr Blue Sky' kicks in at 01:07 and is used to great effect imo, really sets the mood for the movie : fun, light hearted, action packed - doesn't take itself too seriously
