Never heard of such a move. Though the arguements of Brexit was that once out we could be more like Aussieland and Canada. More prosperous and able to control immigration etc etc. So the idea is to be like them somehow but I don't think there's a plan to eventually form a union. I mean the first order of Brexit Britain right now is to stop Scotland declaring independance, so before we join another union it's best to keep our own one intact.

Britain just overplaying it's hand. This country isn't that strong anymore economically or diplomatically. It's just hard to explain this to the English.

Interesting, but this reeks of Commonwealth. This is not gonna happen. There's no legit political movement pushing for this.

The UK is KO right now. I don't think it's in Canada, NZ, Australia's interest to strengthen ties. Unless they can make trade deals to their own advantage now that the UK is in a weak position. I'm not in the loop on the current trade deals in place.

The UK is facing problems in both Scotland and Northern Ireland. They really fucked up in Northern Ireland with the hard/soft frontier issue due to Brexit and they all but handed the keys to Sturgeon for independence. Mind you, it probably won't go that far. Some solution for NI will crop up and Scotland would have to renegotiate its position in the EU as a new state, it'd take time and effort.

On the other hand, now that Britain is out of the EU there'll be less push from Spain (which has its own unwilling regions) etc to keep independence movements within the UK down

If n. Ireland leaves the UK will it join regular ireland or is that no longer a possibility? The video is pretty stupid since the other countries have 0 to gain and have never heard of that shit.

NI reuniting with the Republic of Ireland is a mid to long term goal for some people in NI but there's the Protestants who are UK minded too. they are a substantial group soit's not gpnna happen. honestly the situation before Brexit was the best one realistically possible : a kind of armored peace without bombings and shootings. I hope Brexit doesn't change the equilibrium in NI.

This particular set up won't happen, but it could be a protective measure that a lot of nations want to take if they feel threatened. It makes sense that the west would pool their strength as other nations get stronger.

For a long time they were talking about a US, Canada & Mexico conglomerate. The reality is the politics are too volatile and disparate for that to work any time soon.

But yeah you never know. Everybody wants in the EU because of this situation, and things can change a lot in the next few years.

UK polls say they regret Brexit. No shit. Called it.
