Thread: DMX's output

  1. #1

    Default DMX's output

I always thought he made a great and then a weaker album, in that order

It's Dark and Hell is Hot : ace

Flesh of my Flesh, Blood of my Blood : dropped too soon, could have been better. good album tho

... And then there was X : ace

The Great Depression : meh, some good tracks, some mediocre material

    Grand Champ : ace

Year of the Dog Again : okay but not great

I'd need to revisit the last two official albums again before passing judgment

I will say that DMX did have great SINGLES on each album and that even the albums I consider 'weaker' are solid (and miles beyond some of today's mainstream output)

    agree? disagree?

For me. Then there was X gets downgraded. Only because party up, what these bitches want, and good girls/bad guys. Those tracks seem overily eager to be mainstream.

listening to The Great Depression now. Bettter than I remembered. thanks for yallz input. Enjoyed 'Damien III', 'You Could Be Blind', 'A Minute For Your Son', some of the singles too. btw I had completely forgotten about all the hidden Bloodline bonus tracks at the end of the album.

I listened to Flesh/Blood again as well but it seems I haven't changed my opinion much

might give 'Year of the Dog ... Again' a listen later today to see how it holds up. my expectations are low lol
