Thread: Actors you feel FELL OFF big time

Default Actors you feel FELL OFF big time

One of my streaming services recently added a slew of 80s movies. Been watching suite a few them

Watching The Big Chill right now, the Kaszn directed dramedy

I didn't even recognize Tom Berenger at first

Both his acting and the movies he was in definitely took a major nosedive over the years

A shame since dude was talented

    Who you got?

What has Val Kilmer and Benicio Del Toro been up to? I dont even think Sean Penn and Emilo Estevez act anymore. Just a few that I thought up.

Shiiit I was typing a long answer and then the forum timed out

    bullet points :

Del Toro is in the new Soderbergh No Sudden Move and has 2 more movies coming out this year

Kilmer was seriously ill (cancer?) and has always been notoriously difficult on set

IDK about Penn and Estevez, you're right I don't see em anymore

I was also thinking of Tom Sizemore (Heat, Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down). I think it was drugs that started the downward spiral

Mickey Rourke (on set behavior = diva shit) is another one

I'd like to see Estevez in a movie again. Imo Penn and Rourke are overrated actors. Rourke was good in Wild Orchid that's about it

I'd like to see Andy Garcia in more movies too, he's criminally underused

Christian Bale is a great actor. His choices in recent years were disappointing, more great directors like Scorsese and PTA should have made use of him by now. Fassbender is another one who I want to see in more good films.

If we're talking about actors that suck now, Bruce Willis & Sam Jackson. Jackson does his thing in Tarantino films but thats it. These guys are on autopilot.

true Willis, Jackson & Cage are the trifecta of sucky formerly great actors. I'm still holding off watching the Color Out Of Space w/ Cage though I hear it's great and he's good in it but I don't want him to ruin one of my fav short stories (HP Lovecraft) ever haha. I might give it a watch this summer. if I don't I'll regret it when it's no longer available in streaming content

recently saw Jackson & Cage in a drug gang movie together and it was HALFWAY decent but their acting still sucked. Jackson was overacting like he was on coke (which he is in the movie, but he was still overdoing it lol) and Cage was underacting like he was on 'ludes

Bale needs to do more (good) movies for sure. Man remember The Machinist!

I liked Mickey Rourke in The Wreslter and Bullet. Sean Penn in Colors, State of Grace, and Mystic River. But both proably could be less prominent because they are hard to work with like you said.

Good one. How many monumental flops was he involved with.

Yeah…… He made one bad movie and his career was dead after that? Shame because to me he was a good actor and a true Hollywood movie star.

Saw this trailer the other day. It’s quite confronting to see the way he is now compared to the way he’s known for.

Whatever became of Edward Norton. I can't remember him anything in years.

apparently a lot of voice work. I guess he spends more time with the family

He's gonna be in the Knives Out sequel

Corey Feldman. Loved him in those 80s/early 90s films.
