Default The Tragedy of the A Son Unique Album

So your brother dies, and there is one last album left. And this album gets trapped in a legal battle between the estate and the label. With as a result, the whole thing officially never got released. That's a tragedy right? And I do not see any effort to release it any time soon. All feel kind of weird to me.

Truth be told, the leak that I heard was not the Dirty album I was hungering for. Did hear like a collection of 10 unpolished tracks. With one called Wastin' Time/No More, which is absent from the leaked copy. This is easily one of his strongest from this period.

I'd kill for that cd, I saw a few pop up on eBay years ago and missed em both.

Nice. I remember seeing an interview online where Royal Flush said he ghostwrote for this album.

It's on Apple Music. Listed as a 2005 release put out by "On The Low" records.

Good album. I would have thought RZA or somebody would have made a posthumous ODB record by now. It's money in the bank when they do decide to do it.

The problems is, Dirty wasn't a prolific recorder. So I suspect there aren't reels and reels of unreleased material.

Any new posthumous release would likely be a whole lot of "This recording is dirty and it's stinking, funkier than Pepé Le Pew so I was thinkin...." and other verses Dirt recycled many times, even when he was alive.

So honestly. I don't think a posthumous release is a great idea.

The Return to the 36th Chambers 25th Anniversary Remaster, (with Ol' Dirty's Back, Don't you know Pt2 and Give it to ya raw + various alt/extended takes) is a fitting tribute that preserves the legacy better than any new release could.

There is an interview from RZA from a 4-5 years back. He was asked about Dirty recordings, because his name popped up on some album again. And RZA was frank, there are not a lot of verses from him. But, there was supposed to be tons of recordings of Ol' Dirty just in the studio talking about stuff. And he would look into seeing if these talks could be made into something to be released. Something I would be interested in to see/hear.
