Next month will be the 25th anniversary of one of the greatest hip-hop debuts of the ’90s: Ghostface Killah’s Ironman. To celebrate the occasion, Ghostface will release a special 12″ vinyl of the album as well as a new extended digital edition that will be heading to DSPs. The extended album will feature new remixes and instrumentals of all the songs. (One of the remixes that will be available is a new version of Ghostface’s touching tribute to his mother, “All That I Got Is You.”)
The new extended version of Ironman is coming out on Friday, October 29. But the vinyl — which will be released by Get on Down and which will feature two colors, “Chicken & Broccoli” and “Blue & Crème” — will release in 2022. You’ll be able to cop the preorder that day, though.
It’s going to be a busy time for Ghostface. He is currently working on Supreme Clientele 2, the sequel to his 2000 masterpiece. During a talk on Reddit’s HipHopHeads forum, Ghost shared that the album would be dropping on February 2022. He also wrote that Kanye West and Mike Dean would be executive producers of the album.
Ghost is also joining fellow Wu-Tang members GZA and Raekwon for The 3 Chambers Tour. On that tour, each Wu-Tang member will perform performing a set centered around one of their respective classic albums. GZA will perform Liquid Swords; Raekwon will do Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…; and Ghostface Killah will celebrate Ironman. That tour kicks off this week at the Skyway Theater in Minneapolis.
oh word
N.I.
Basically a vinyl pressing with instrumentals dusted off. Wonder if the mixing is any good. If I recall correctly, Get On Down has some horrible mixing on these releases.The extended album will feature new remixes and instrumentals of all the songs.

Wasn't John Woo supposed to do the video for Daytona 500, but he found their music too violent? So they slapped together some cartoons.

I never really did listen to that Ghostdini record.During our conversation, Ghost almost seemed bored reflecting on Ironman and the new extended reissue that will be heading to DSPs on Friday. Instead, he wanted to talk about, literally, anything else: including other albums he feels prouder of (like Ghostdini: Wizard of Poetry in Emerald City);

I'm not sure though. But this is the urban legend that I heard of a couple of times.
Also, I noticed that on this backcover, Soul Controller is not listed. My first copy of Ironman did not have that track on it. But I learned about it via some paper a professor had written about sampling in hiphop. Especially the sampling of classical music. Right now there are versions out with and without. But I think that one was cut for sampling reasons.
Which bring me to Box in Hand. That one is still on the tracklisting, but was replaced with a completely different song. There was a white label going around with the original. And I think it got renamed in the early 2000's to some other dumb name.

From Wikipedia:
”In 2001, "The Soul Controller" was removed from subsequent pressings of the album, due to sample rights not being cleared.”
