Default When do you think Prodigy was in his prime?

After finding out on IG that today, 11/2 is his birthday I did a little as some would say ‘Bible study’ on him and his music. In my opinion, dude was at the top of his game when HNIC dropped (2000). Which wasn’t too long after Mobb Deep had put out Murda Muzik where he also shined.
“I bring the gravity thunn, you’re gonna fall”

Tres Leches is also one of my favorite songs to bump in the whip and The Game he was right up to par with Rae and Ghost. The video footage of the recording of that song is gold if you haven’t seen it.

For me, after Americaz Nightmare I sort of lost interest in the Mobb but I know a decent amount of work was put out from then up until he passed. RIP

You might like their last double album, "The Infamous Mobb Deep", one disc with the old joints and one with the new ones. I loved that album.

P had a great run from The Infamous to HNIC.

I loved what he put out afterwards too but the lyrics are different. Some late favorites include HNIC2 and some tracks on Product of the Eighties

P will always be in my top five dead or alive. RIP.

I think the late 90s generally.

Prodigy didn't really slip but he started rapping slower, and simplifying his lyrics on a few songs in the 00s. Part of that was MD adjusting to the era and evolving their sound. Mobb made some songs that they never would have made before, but they had to move with the times. They still had a lot of fire records during that era.

Cam'ron did the same thing starting with Come Home With Me, he started rapping slower and simplifying his lyrics, except he simplified them to five year old level.

I wonder if he just checked out on being lyricist after HNIC. Considering that maybe it didn't getting the recognition it deserved.

Word! I forgot to list the album in my post, don't know how I missed that one. It's so dope.

The Hegelian Dialectic album is fire too. Has a different vibe from his previous releases.

Word his last album Dialectic is real dope.

To me, P on Hell On Earth is the prime. One of the best performances by any rapper
