Real Wu fans want that GZA documentary anyway with all his old footage, I don't care much about an acted out movie.
Still waiting for that GZA Doc. Rae & Uey fighting about which record was worse right. hahahaha

It's from a god awful 2004 film called Coaltion.
    Unintentionally hillarious 😂

Guys what is worse: Raekwon's acting, or Ice Cream part 2?

Good question. Just remembered that there also is like an Ice Cream 2003. Correction that was Ice Cream 2002 by Suga Bang Bang, which is basically a reworking of the original beat. with Suga on it.

COALITION is a realistic depiction of how New York's lucrative construction business is systematically shaken down by minority non-union labor. Our story is about one man's quest to go up against the cities largest and most dangerous coalition group, the SBM, "Survival of the Black Man" coalition. This is an extremely hard-hitting, gritty, modern day "On the Waterfront." A true-to-life voyeuristic view of how both sides of the law is pitted against each other. The story was written by Joseph Ariola, a long time member of the Operating Engineers Union in N.Y.C. Joe hired retired Detective Robert Cea to work on the movie script with him. The story is based on the true inner workings of the police trying to infiltrate the corrupt coalition workers; the mob middle men setting up these coalition deals; the unions trying to organize against impending layoffs due to the cheap unskilled non-union labor; and, one man stuck in the middle trying to battle the mob, killer coalition bosses from his own race, and the pursuit to find his true mission in life.

The summary of the plot on IMDB is gold. Can't wait to find a link to download this. Looks like the director grabbed a bunch of people from Oz too.

Needless to say, neither she nor I could get past 10 minutes without finally begging the DVD tray to eject as fast as possible once we hit the button.

Rae says a film would be a 200 year Scotch you drink straight up.

The series gets compared to a nice Scotch with a lot of ice.

Looks like he forgets that he only has a 2-3 hour frame to tell the story. Yet he wants to make it like Scorsese?

Rae wants some Scorsese shit with top notch actors with 10 million dollars. The NWA movie budget was 30-50mil.

I’m a thousand times removed from the industry as him and know 10 mil sounds ridiculous af.

Nah son. From what I understood, they would get 10 million dollars for the rights to the film. A budget of 10 million would be ridiculous for his grand vision. The only thing he could pull of with that money, would be an indie flick. Would not be anywhere on some Scorsese shit as Rae says. Much more on some Brick shit by Rian Johnson. But you probably wanted somebody like Singleton, Fuqua or Coogler, McQueen. Depending on where you want to take it. Still, those names would work with a bigger budget. So you have to find someone up and coming.

    makes sense

Rae's new interview today said he wanted someone like Idris Elba or Jamie Foxx as a role in his Wu movie. I guess I appreciate his vision but it doesn't sound too realistic. All the youtube comments are even saying the show was a better idea

In the new video he also notes that he personally likes bio films. That would mean that it just comes from a personal preference. LMAO at comparing RZA to the alien from Flinstones.

Idris Elba, Jamie Foxx. Great actors. But who the fuck they going to play? Popa Wu? Or an angry and spitefull 2008-2021 Rae complaining about RZA constantly.

At the end, he pitches an idea like Narcos. Story from another person. Which is also a series. . .

Honestly, if they would make a film. Or would come with the idea to do a trilogy. They would have to put up a lot of their own money. Don't think a studio is going to back that. Why too much of a gamble. The first film could be a success. But something could happen, and they would be blackballed. And you would still have to do the second one. Or just that people don't turn up for the second one, because it was just meh.
