Lots of people have been talking about Cordae for a while, saying he's the next Kendrick or Cole, etc. All I know is that he's influenced by Big L and other '90s rappers and he's one of the few rappers from his generation who doesn't suck

Yeah I remember when J.Cole dissed him.
His album didn't sell as well as expected, and people are making the argument that the younger generations won't listen to "lyrical rap" unless it's Kendrick or Cole
^ He just needs a big hit. Like those guys are cerebral rappers but have big hits too.
