    Default Standard crime show plots

    Let's say a show has a 22 episode season

Can we go the full season w/ standard cop show tropes? Sure we can

Pilot : a quarter of the team gets taken out, overarching plot line that revolves around mystery and revenge is set up. bad guy will only reveal himself to the viewers in the last few eps

Ep 2 : turmoil in one of the investigators' private life spills over into a case. that team member almost gets the sack

Ep 3 : the team deals with corruption in the higher ranks. there's a lot of yelling in this ep

Ep 4 : serial killer time! ep takes place in the sticks

Ep 5 : k9 unit or random dog cracks a case, dog is old/gets hurt and ends up as pet of one of the team members

Ep 6 : today's bad guy turns out to be twins!

Ep 7 : team member has a drug habit and it spills over into a case (different team member from ep 2!)

Ep 8 : team member (yet another one) is lonely, his/her one night stand gets offed and he/she is the main suspect

Ep 9 : earlier bits from ep 2-8 blossom to a full blown office romance between 2 team members (the beautiful one and the nerdy one), today's crime case needs little plot, it's all about the romance

Ep 10 : kid gets abducted, lots of tears in this episode. a water well is involved somehow

Ep 11 : crime in the army, somehow the team EVEN IF IT DOESN'T HAVE JURISDICTION gets involved

Ep 12 : the team cracks a case during a storm/blizzard/... ; one member gets hurt/killed during the mid season finale

Ep 13 : new team member gets worked in, crime revolves around a sports team, one investigator goes undercover and does surprisingly well on the sports team

Ep 14 : green card scam, bit of a comedic episode with some laughs. guest role by a rapper

Ep 15 : crossover episode with the other show of the same franchise. team member from show B needs help from crew in show A. it's a missing person's case. most boring ep of the season

Ep 16 : halloween episode. victim is dressed up as a unicorn/... weird type shiznit ep

Ep 17 : long lost family member of the team leader isn't dead but turns out to be a crucial part of today's case!

Ep 18 : low end set up of the season finale - second crime of the most evil bad guy on the show (the guy from the pilot). it's treated as 'just another case' by the team since tgey don't know his identity

Ep 19 : marina episode. Cue drug trafficking and cute nature shots, also some footage of most evil bad guy being involved in another case that hasn't attracted the team's attention yet

Ep 20 : the mayor needs a favor, something embarrassing needs solving. the team begrudgingly agrees. more most evil bad guy stuff in a few of the shots

Ep 21 : amazing 10 minute opening scene : full on gruesome crime by most evil bad guy. the team gets involved. midway through the ep they realize : it's most evil bad guy's doing! last few minutes : a team member gets lured into a trap

Ep 22 : flashback opening scene : most evil bad guy's sucky childhood. later on in the ep the viewers recognize most evil bad guys' mannerisms and where they came from. childhood trauma/related mannerism leads to his downfall in final confrontation with team. last few minutes : team member A proposes to team member B, the one who got lured into that trap and is emotionally vulnerable

WILL THEY GET MARRIED? WILL MOST EVIL BAD GUY REALLY BE CONVICTED?

    Season 2 : add on

Sniper episode. A roof top sniper has been the whole city on edge. Peak dramatic scene is when the chief of police and mayor have to be separated when lack of progress on the case almost leads to a fisticuffs. Profiling leads the team to focus on military vets who are experiencing PTSD. A two parter for sure when we get flashback of the sniper reign of terror in the foreign conflicts. The conclusion leads to the vet being taken out at his request since there is no way a normal life can be had. Somber ending leads to Team question life itself.

Latino gang episode. A lot of guys who all look like Mr Capone E & Mr Criminal (go figure) run a chop shop. A woman gets murdered in a car that later gets stolen by the gang. Cue an investigation that includes a lot of Spanish, tattoos, sunglasses and checkered shirts only buttoned at the top. We're over 25 episodes in at this point but we now suddenly find out that ALL team members are fluent in Spanish.
