Muggs is absent, apparently he will produce the next Cypress Hill album that they've already started.

I'm listening to the album right now. Its a much different sound for Cypress, not trippy, or as dark as usual but it actually works for them. Some of the tracks sound great: Open Ya Mind, Bye Bye, The Original, The Ride..

    I agree!!!

I am a huge Cypress Hill fan but only the "Black Sunday" and "Temples Of Boom" albuns, I hope they really return to that sound.

Some good tracks like "Looking Through The Eye Of A Pig" , "Prelude To A Come Up" and "Dead Man Tell No Tales" ( I really like that hypnotic dark spooky sound ) but other than those 3 tracks nothing really mindblowing in my opinion.

IV was okay and had some good singles but the previous 2 albums were much better. I thought IV was too long.

btw Temples of Boom was slaughtered in the European press (I'm in Belgium) for no reason at all. after that it was over with the good reviews for the next albums and Cypress Hill were only considered a festival act (they performed extensively at festivals throughout Europe all through their career but especially in the nineties and 2000s). So random. Temples of Boom was great imo

I heard that because "Insane In The Brain" was such a huge success critics started to say Cypress Hill were a comercial hip-hop group, so Muggs came with the most dark beats possible for the next album and that's how the amazing "Temples Of Boom" was created.

Sometimes Muggs comes back with that sound like "Stone Cold Soul" he did with Rome Streetz but nothing ever touched "Temples Of Boom" from DJ Muggs again in my opinion.

I also miss the dark funky groovy dark bass lines of "Black Sunday" but Muggs seems so far away from that sound for a long time, I still respect him greatly tho.

There's this Soul Assassin's mixtape ( mostly tracks produced by DJ Muggs ) which is full of 90's bangers where you can really see how dope Muggs was in that era.

For example the tracks he produced for Call O Da Wild ( which I didn't even knew before ) are truly dope!!!

    It's full of bangers!!!

    Enjoy!

Btw, I never liked "Dr. Greenthumb" , for me that song is in the same category as the songs from Afroman...
