    Default TMNT Shredder's revenge

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge is an upcoming side-scrolling beat 'em up video game developed by Tribute Games and published by Dotemu. It is based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. It is inspired by the 1987 animated series and borrows stylistically from the arcade and home console games developed by Konami during the 80s and 90s. The game is set to be released for Microsoft Windows, Linux, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on June 16, 2022.

This is reminiscent to TMNT the arcade game released on the original NES. That was an all time classic and debuted at the peak of their popularity. Makes sense to release a game that is a throwback to that era

If someone told me one of the most acclaimed games of 2022 would be a pixel game featuring a Wu Tang song, I'd think you were crazy. All the video game critics and YouTube reviewers are calling this game a masterpiece, which is how I found out about it. They say it might be the best beat 'em up game ever made.

The gaming industry is now partially run by Millennials in their 30s and 40s, and they're obviously nostalgic as fuck, so they're bringing back '90s shit. That's why fast-paced cartoony arcadey Doom type first-person shooters are popular again. No more 20 hour games with depressing stories. Millennials are making games fun again.

    Cartoony > gritty realism

the world is depressing enough. and who has time to play a 40 hour campaign?
