I'd say Tical is classic, I think all the songs are memorable and a part of hip hip history. Only thing I don't like is the muddy mix. I must have forgot a remaster existed, I should check that out.
Tical 2000 might be even better, but the songs didn't have a cultural impact like his debut. So thats more of a fan choice.
AFAIK there are 2 'Tical' remasters
there's a 2000 version https://www.discogs.com/release/607291-Method-Man-Tical
and then there's a 2014 different remaster, the one I linked to above (search for 'deluxe version' online)
since this article https://www.businesswire.com/news/ho...-on-Def-JamUMe says 'newly remastered' (2014), I take it this means the deluxe version did not use the 2000 remaster, but the album was remastered once again in I guess a more qualitative way (whatever that means)
I haven't heard the 2000 one, so can't comment on that one

I hope DX is paying Math Hoffa for milking his Meth interview for a gazillion articles this week lol

I would have preferred if Razor Sharp mix was on the album instead, that version is best, then l.p. version, never cared for Puff Daddy mix, although I know it was done to give it some commercial appeal.. I hate it when labels put the better sounding version of a song on a single and then they mad when the single outsells the album, although that was not the case in this instance
Sorry I have it on double CD but my Chromebook does not have a CD drawer that would allow me to rip the album for you. it's the only computer in the house
I see Qobus has a free trial period which allows you to stream the deluxe remastered album for free so you can see if you hear differences with the original version
https://www.qobuz.com/be-nl/album/ti.../0060253798293
a DL (instead of streaming) on there looks pricey though. a hard copy via Discogs is probably cheaper

I see the qobuz url has location in it (be-nl), if the link does not pan out for you in your region, qobuz.com has a search function on its homepage too

This is the short version. Does anyone have the long version can share here ? peace
5 Mics is a bit much but The Source gave it 4 which I think was pretty accurate. It's still a Wu-Classic without a doubt. Like someone mentioned earlier Tical 2000 could've been considered better than Tical if it didn't have about 12-14 skits on it. I don't know whose idea was that. He was just missing that "Hit" from Tical 2000. The album went Platinum just off Mef's name alone lol but it didn't have a "All I Need" or "Bring the Pain" caliber type track.
Only a few years ago Hip Hop purists may have felt superior listening to hard core while their less enlightened companions snacked on commercial rap. As Shaolin research began to point out the overwhelming benefits of raw production, true hip hop enthusiasts started turning back to traditional styles. Wu-Tang in particular, has been shown to myriad beneficial effects, from warding off ignorance and poverty to reducing the risk of incarceration and death.
Dangerous Grounds got regular spins on Hot 97 back when the album dropped, it was huge out here.. Judgement Day and Break Ups 2 Make Ups were not too bad either
Filthy Rich knows his stuff
