Default Bob Dylan re-records 'Blowin' in the wind' for one copy Ionic Original (new music format)

    https://www.whathifi.com/news/theres...nacle-of-sound

the Dylan record being auctioned off by Christie's is expected to sell for $ 1 million

the laquer is used to make vinyl copies but is too brittle itself to be played more than a few times. because vinyls are essentially copies of the laquer there's some audio loss as compared to the laquer

guitar player & roots music producer T-Bone Burnett along with the Georgia Institute of Technology came up with a way to put the laquer onto an aluminum disc so it remains strong and there is no audio loss as compared to vinyl

a combination of CD and vinyl if you will

you can play Ionic Originals on regular record pickup players

the stylus pushes the dust out of the grooves and there is no hiss, not even after a thousand plays

T-Bone & team would now like to look into adding extra digital data onto the disc such as author info or holograms

I got some of the info from a local newspaper in Dutch

EDIT : the article states that T-Bone also came up with the 'code disk' in 2008, which was a new format that consisted of a type of DVD disc that played music better than a CD. the only big name rock musician who turned out to be interested in that format was John Mellencamp

the idea of auctioning off just the one copy is a statement about music as art, about audio quality and about the monetary value of music

since this is sort of in line with the OUATIS idea I just sent Cilvaringz pictures of the newspaper article
