This genre is completely new to me. It was cool to see some of those album covers too earlier this week. Please share some more music.

I wouldn't say it's overall laid back, it's heavy on fuzz pedal. It's a mixture of psychedelic, blues, blues/rock, funk sometimes mixed with African style.
Aids pretty much ended the genre but it fucked the whole country and it's never really recovered but in the last 10 years its had a resurgence with some of these repress labels that release hard to find/lost records, Now Again Records being one of them and there's a documentary on the genre that revived popularity but I never saw it. I've started a mini Zamrock record collection and have about 10 so far.
Ngozi Family are top notch, Paul Ngozi is the guitarist dude is good

Zamrock is super dope, there's a Nigerian psychedelic scene from the 1970s as well but I haven't had a dive through that yet I am still making my way through Zambia but that's next on the list.
