This new posthumous Prodigy (R.I.P.) album "The Book of Heroine" is disappointing to me. It's topically redundant, the beats are hit or miss, and the features apart from Noyd sound record label appointed- though Big Daddy Kane does spit an excellent tribute verse.
The album also lacks cohesive structure, there's nothing tying the tracks together apart from subject matter. "The Book of Revelation" took the listener on a journey, complete with an intro setting the premise of the record, and informative interludes linking the tracks together. This is completely absent from "The Book of Heroine", it's simply a disjointed collection of love songs, connected by theme alone.
Overall it's refreshing to hear Prodigy's voice and come away with a few solid redeemable songs, however the album as a whole leaves much more to be desired, and resembles an exploitative cash grab in the same vein as the posthumous Sean Price and DMX album releases.

I'll give it a spin but the singles and promo are not promising.
Would have been better off giving the verses to Havoc and letting him finish it up as a Mobb Deep record, or Alchemist could have put something together. I guess Hav is still working on that unfinished MD album?
