I was thinking. One could make the joke that FIFA got so greedy that even EA stopped working with them.
But, on a better note, Qatar is showing that you can do anything at the last minute when FIFA is there. So theoretically you could also tax them all of a sudden. Though that would be difficult, and lawsuits would be in place in most European countries.
And, what is a player to do, boycot the cup? Or as a country? They could have done it, and there was talk about it. Nobody followed it up though. BBC did start the opening with a coverage of the human rights violations. Amnesty International bought ad time directly after the Dutch game yesterday with the name of somebody who died.
