lol, yeah I've become way more liberal with age but I'm somewhat of a moderate. There's a small dickedness to modern conservatism that also turns off anyone who's life has any semblence of order and forward movement. They also 'predicted' gen z would be more conservative because they go to church more but that's only on account of them being blacker and more hispanic than previous gens.

Are millennials even old enough for this to be an accurate and worthwhile study?

Weak article that goes in to no detail and is just a snapshot of tweets of people who still believe that platform is relevant.

Millennials are 30-40 now but the data shows Gen X didn't start to get more conservative until they hit 60 which is when the boomers skyrocketed which is when these groups are pushing retirement age, nothing data really.

The blurb says "they aren't following the typical pattern of getting more conservative as they age" while the graph clearly shows Gen X had a dip at the exact time that millennials did even though it isn't as drastic.

Theres multiple articles on this. The original FT article is behind a paywall.

The graph clearly shows theres a difference with this generation. I think it also has to do with people having less kids or having them later.

I think the difference is cultural. In the past, even within my lifetime, conservatism was associated with being mature and going with the process. It's now the 'counter culture', and ppl don't mature into counter cultures. I can't imagine a 40 year old who isn't about to kill themselves being into an alpha male podcast ya know.
