Default Wu-Tang Just Straight Fleecing Their Fan Base At This Point

I feel like most members have just given up on music at this point and are just selling stuff to the fan base as an income. Some of the latest drops:

    $160 3" action figure - https://36chambers.com/products/36-c...-first-edition

    $50 faux leather wallet - https://36chambers.com/collections/a...-bifold-wallet

    $45 child's vest - https://36chambers.com/products/for-...nesie-preorder

Most of Ghost's social media posts are promoting some kind of product. I'll admit the statues he released during the pandemic had my interest but it's all played out at this point. Like put out some damn decent music for your fans first and I might feel the motivation to support these other hustles.

Yeah who’s spending 160 bucks on that toy? Meanwhile Super 7 puts out decent ones for 20 bucks a pop. Speaking of posts on IG, ever see what Hell Razah posts/sells? Dude is selling womens panties. And he posts some odd alien sh!t all the time. I will give him a pass because of his health. Sad either way. Peace

Yeah, it is a weird bit if you start browsing that shop. It is like they realized their new music sucks, but they have a legacy brand. This legacy brand has a nostalgia factor for people who got money to spend, and sometimes like action figures and collectables. So we might as well go all in on that.

Besides this, most of the anniversary editions seem gimmicky to me. Just re-releases on vinyl with some kind of gimmick to let people buy it again. Also see this: https://36chambers.com/collections/m...igned-numbered

Ghost is on another level, just straight hustling like an influencer and selling whatever has been offered up to him. Anybody ever tried that coffee? And what is up with that Wu-Honey shit him and Priest put up some years ago?

Those Super7 ones are decent for the 20 bucks. But they have a bootleg simpsons vibe to them in the quality of the actual physical toy. Packaging is all great, but just re-using what was there already.

Razah is doing what? Is that alien shit like Ancient Aliens and such? The stuff Priest has been rapping about for a minute?

True, but I always had the idea it was more of a Mass Appeal thing, from Nas. It was part of the last 5 year plan by RZA which started with the doc, followed up by the series, and closed off with the tour. Now there even should be a concert film.

One last thing I just noticed is how Mics & Men, American Saga & NY State Of Mind were all pretty properly promoted. But all this little things they throw out, like for example that 25th anniversary of In Stereo. All those little things get little to no promo. Could be me though. Just reminded me of how GZA has 2 Instagrams. One for himself as an artist, and one for his merch. Something which he could actually combine into a single Instagram with a shop.

What's Rae been on promoting lately? He also always on some purple shit.

I dont expect anything from them anymore (not in a bad way). If I can catch them on tour soon that would be more than enough, but I'm not interested in new music. That being said, Ghost has the absolute worst 'business minds' in his team imaginable lol. He's clearly getting his cues from a guy that used to sell glass bubblers in deep pink strip mall to teenagers.

lol, yeah I'm not saying I necessarily want new music from them at this point, but give something back to your fans and stop treating them as cash cows.

lmao I forgot that one, U-God beat that earlier in the year if I recall when he was charging $49 for a single track! I'd love to know what kind of numbers these projects do.

To me personally that was great. I started listening to Mach-Hommy after that. Totally forgot about the EP itself. But I have not forgotten the horrible design he used, shared that more than the music.

What would that be? Them having a a Wu-Wear line, should be good. They can do whatever they want. How about they release actual special editions with interview and anecdotes of the music they made? With a collection of high quality videos that were taken from the source. Maybe even put director commentary on those videos. Hype Williams should be up for that.

Shit. Again, forgot about this venture which came after the NFT wave. Did find links to the original tracks that were sold. When I was looking that up, I could hardly find any active trading on the tracks. Moreover, the tracks were still being sold. . . . I see 29 results on OpenSea at the moment. . . Had to look to find his website, https://www.ugod.hiphop/, the stuff is still up there including the prizes. Wonder if any of that ever came to fruition. (Honestly, why would you still do those things in 2023. Seems like a MySpace contest.) Found it, it was limited to 3,000. My guess is he barely sold 1% of those.
