Dre aint Dre no more, RZA aint RZA no more, which producer has held their power from the 90s?
Sounds dope, I like it!
Pete rock. Dj premier still do bangers. Heard some easy mo bee stuff on hes ig that went hard aswell.
My biggest issue with Snoops project is that alot of songs is under three minutes. They couldve fleshed it out a bit timewise.
It felt to me it was verse , chorus, verse, chorus end of song with no space in between.
I kinda like the fact that it's short and the songs don't drag on for too long. Too many MC's turn dope albums in to mediocre albums by padding them out with sub-par joints. I'd much rather have a Tical than a T2000... 13 tracks at 45 mins, or 28 tracks at 73 mins.
This Snoop album was waaaay better than I expected on first listen. Some good beats there, the tracks don't hang around long enough to get boring, and Snoop sounds good on this.
90's producers that still got it... there ain't many - I'd put Q-Tip, Premo and Muggs up there as three of the best that can still make that dope shit like they used to. Q-Tip's production on that LL album earlier this year is some of the best shit I heard all year!
Peace!
I agree that songs shouldnt be to long cause alot of people cant keep focus for a long time.
But I felt some songs in this project wouldnt suffer from anonther 30 seconds to a minute. Maybe another verse or a musical bridge.
For me Muggs lost it long time ago aswell. Q tips production on LL cool Js album was a bit hit and miss.
The whole album was better then I expected but worse then the contract ep he released a couple of years ago.
The production on there was way better.
OUATIS got multiple songs hitting 7 min. Yikes!
I do agree with that... there was one or two tracks on this Snoop album where I thought they could have let the beat ride for a little longer, or drop another verse.
I think Muggs has still got the ability to make bangers... every album he drops has got a handful of dope tracks... but there's just so much filler on each tape as well. That would have never happened on the early Cypress records, or even the first few Muggs vs. albums which were all dope as hell.
I really enjoyed the Q-Tip/LL album, one or two skip tracks but it was solid and I keep returning to it. I haven't checked out the EP you mentioned... I've never really been much of an LL fan so there's a lot of his stuff I've never checked.
Peace!
I need more listens of the album as a whole, but after a couple plays I enjoyed it. And this song in particular is good. Meth and Snoop has always been a light, fun, laidback vibe.
Side note; both these gentlemen(no disrespect to Smitty) are featured on Masta Killa’s first single “Pleased To Meet Ya” off his Balance album coming 1st quarter 2025 according to M80. Looks like he’s involved in Darkman’s release around that time as well.
As for Ringz question, I liked that Diamond D project recently. Think it was a three part EP series. Song with Deck and Shy was ill.
Meth went bananas on this one, damn! The album ain't bad! It really has some dope tracks
"I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth" (Rev. 3:15-16)
DJ Muggs. Best producer from 90s. Havoc probably still has it too but just haven’t heard much from him lately. Peace
This is a weird release from fan perspective. People shittin on it without even listening. Songs fine. I dont expect 50+ yr old men to drop atomics like they were 20-30 forever. Just getting a few songs outta these guys over some top production is a win at this point for anyone
i like it. Dont love it yet but its been a day.
Method Man violated this track!
