anyone else pissed off at ricky ponting for the ireland debacle? i don't care how much he wanted to up the run rate percentages... although the crowds haven't been that good, people paid their hard earned cash and were entitled to at least see the australian batting line up tee off... instead the combined total of the match was less than 50 overs...

    south africa vs new zealand

    pitch
that pitch was fucked they put too much moist in that pitch, they could see when new zealand played against shri lanka that the pitch was doing too much & they made it even more moist
at this level of cricket they should of monitored the pitch better
for the 1st 20 overs it was unplayable even for the best batsmen

    fielding
also we sucked in the field there is no excuse for such poor fielding 4 dropped catches is embarassing

yet again that affermitive action shit came back to bite us in the ass
robin pieterson doesn't belong in the team we got better bowlers than him
there is 3 players that really don't deserve to be in the team makes it hard to rest players

but aside from that new zealand won us but it wasn't a convincing win i still think the better team lost

The South African reaction following the three-Test series in Australia either side of Christmas, which Australia won 2-0, will add to the tension after incidents of racist crowd taunts throughout the tour. "I think it will be," Ponting said in The Australian when asked if the crowds would make it the most unpleasant overseas tour. "It certainly has been in the past when we have been there. At the Wanderers [in Johannesburg] when we were there for a previous tour we had to get a tunnel erected over the players' walkway to stop people spitting at us and pouring drinks over us."

they can be fuckin lucky we didn't catch them in the streets we would of killed your players

this is the type of repocution you will expierience if you cats don't calm down in the stands
you degrade our playes & your players will feel it harder

Ponting, Symonds do it in style

Ricky Ponting and Andrew Symonds hit half-centuries as Australia cruised to a 7-wicket win over Sri Lanka.

Ponting fittingly hit the winning runs and did it in style, walloping Bandara to long-on for six.

The Aussie skipper brought up yet another half-century by punching Maharoof through deep wicket for a single. He celebrated it by lofting the bowler over mid-off for a boundary.

Symonds also brought up his 50 with a crashing cover drive off Maharoof for four.

So, it was all too easy in the end for the Aussies

First Innings Bulletin: South Africa Vs England

    Hall destroys England
Andrew Hall picked up four quick wickets in a sensational spell as England collapsed to 122/8 in 38 overs.
Jacques Kallis sent back a well-set Andrew Strauss for 46 and Hall dismissed Paul Collingwood for 30 as the South African bowlers put their side firmly on top.
Strauss was caught at wide slip by Graeme Smith as the batsman cut one straight to him. Smith had placed himself with the exact intentions and Strauss played into South Africa’s hands.
Hall dealt England with an equally critical blow, catching Collingwood leg before with a perfect inswinging delivery.
Andrew Flintoff’s horror run continued as Hall got one to nip back and bowl him through the gap between bat and pad. Flintoff made only 5.
Paul Nixon gave Hall his third wicket. He poked at an away going delivery and Boucher pouched the simplest of catches behind the wickets.
Sajid Mahmood came in and inside edged another incoming delivery onto his stumps first ball.
    England do some repair work
Collingwood and Strauss put together some useful runs as England tried to recover from another bad start.
The going wasn’t easy but the two decided to stick around. Kallis hit Collingwood on the glove with an awkward delivery and then caught Strauss unawares with a bouncer.
England got some easy runs as Justin Kemp dug one in short. The ball rose and went over Strauss and the keeper Boucher, standing up to the stumps, for 4 byes. Later, Collingwood flicked Kemp for a rare boundary in front of square.
Pollock came back to try and break the Collingwood-Strauss partnership in the 30th over. He conceded only two runs, maintaining his good line and length as England reached 104/3.
England in trouble as Pietersen goes
Andre Nel got the big wicket of Kevin Pietersen as the English top order faltered again. Pietersen tried to whip one on the on side but got an outside edge and lobbed a catch to Graeme Smith at mid-off, who took a good low catch. Pietersen made only 3.

    Crushing victory for SA

Graeme Smith smashed a marvellous 89 from 58 balls as South Africa romped home to an empathic 9-wicket win.

The winning runs were aptly hit by skipper Smith. It came via a bludgeoning drive down the ground off Mahmood.

Smith hit three consecutive fours off Flintoff. The English bowler was slammed to long-on, driven through long-off and then lofted through the off side.

There were a few more smashing boundaries as South Africa cruised home in 19.2 overs.
    Smith on the rampage

South African skipper Graeme Smith had decided the match needed an early finish. Not long after de Villiers was dismissed, Smith smashed Panesar for consecutive boundaries – a cut through point and a lofted drive down the ground. He got his next boundary by slamming Paul Collingwood through covers. Smith completed his 50 off just 34 balls with a punch to the leg side off the same bowler.

Hall and Smith fire South Africa into semi-finals

AFP South Africa rode on Andrew Hall's maiden five-wicket burst to storm into the ICC CWC semi-finals with an emphatic nine-wicket win which humiliated England here on Tuesday.

The paceman finished with 5-18 off 10 economical overs as South Africa dismissed England for a paltry 154 before racing to the target with more than 30 overs to spare in what was a must-win Super Eight match for both teams.

South Africa made a mockery of the England total, with skipper Graeme Smith (89 not out) and AB de Villiers (42) putting on 85 for the opening wicket off just 59 balls in a one-sided contest.

The victory also ended the West Indies' slim chances of advancing in the tournament as South Africa (eight points) now joined defending champions Australia (12), New Zealand (10) and Sri Lanka (8) in the semi-finals.

England virtually went out of the game after a dismal batting performance against a sharp South African attack on a Kensington Oval pitch having both pace and bounce.

Fast bowler Andre Nel (3-35) was the first to rock England when he bagged two key wickets in his fiery opening spell, getting rid of struggling skipper Michael Vaughan and in-form Kevin Pietersen.

England's batting hardly looked convincing against pace as none of their batsman could reach a half-century. Andrew Strauss (46), Paul Collingwood (30) and Ravi Bopara (27 not out) batted defiantly, but it was just not good enough.

They lost their last seven wickets for a meagre 43 runs, much to the disappointment of their supporters.

In contrast, South Africa's batting bloomed right from the beginning as De Villiers and Smith put England to the sword with their aggressive knocks.

De Villiers hit eight fours in his brisk 35-ball knock.

Smith smashed 13 fours in his 58-ball innings, his fifth half-century in the ongoing tournament.

England earlier failed to lift their batting performance.

Pietersen was involved in a brief fascinating duel with South Africa, the country of his birth. He was tested by Nel with a bouncer and was struck on the body off the next delivery.

Pietersen, his team's leading scorer with 341 runs before this game, looked subdued during his brief stay at the crease before falling to a diving catch at mid-off of Nel.

hayden and ponting are being so annoying, constantly complaining.

first about Sri Lanka not having a full strength team, and now about how the tournament goes for to long.

these guys are getting huge amounts of money to play over there, they are getting longer breaks now between games, what do they have to complain about?
