it's the 2nd time in the last world cup we came no where i doubt we even won a game
i'm not sure what he said to nel but it's cool because cricket is as much a mind game as it is a physical game so i don't have a problem with what the players say to each other as long as it's not racist name calling it's all about runs & wickets
if australia can keep sri lanka at 230 or less they should win but somthing to really worry about is the sri lankan bowlers those guys are great
if you bat 1st you going to have problems

you guys made the semi in 92 ... when rain interrutped before the duckworth lewis system and you had to get 20 off 1 ball ... 99 aswell the infamous tie ... and yesterday ... i dont think watson said anything hurtful ... what i could make out sounded pretty lame lol sounded like he said 'i really want to get you out' i could be wrong ... but if not lol wtf is that lol ... gilchrist needs to fire and fire up big time !!

    Cricket SA congratulates finalists

Cricket South Africa (CSA) today (Thursday) congratulated Australia and Sri Lanka on being finalists at the ICC Cricket World Cup West Indies 2007 on Saturday.
In a statement issued from St Lucia, Gerald Majola, CSA’s CEO, said: “Australia and Sri Lanka are worthy finalists and Cricket South Africa congratulates them on reaching the final.
“The Proteas’ performance against Australia in the semifinal yesterday (Wednesday) was disappointing to say the least.
“This does not, however, take anything away from the Australian victory – a team that is playing at it’s prime.
“The match, and the tournament as a whole, has exposed weaknesses in the Proteas squad which will be addressed as a matter of urgency.
“We must remember that this is virtually the same squad that won 13 matches on the trot and established themselves as the world’s best ODI exponents over the last two years.
“We have to find a way of taking this consistency into tournaments because this World Cup has shown an alarming inconsistency in the performances by the Proteas.
“No stone was left unturned over the past two years in preparing them for this World Cup. In addition, they were given a professional support staff of 12 for the World Cup.
“So against this preparation and support background, we have to find out why they were so inconsistent and put remedial measures in place.
“Other general weaknesses facing South African cricket lie with mental strength, swing and spin bowling. We are dealing with these issues at the Standard Bank High Performance Centre.
“In addition, CSA and the boards of Pakistan and India have agreed to an academy exchange programme.
“This will enable us to send a squad of spinners to the Sub-Continent for specialist coaching and for selected batsmen to learn to play spin in those conditions. “Pakistan and India will then be able to use their bowlers and batsmen to train in our quicker conditions.
“On other fronts, South African cricket has a sound platform from which firstly to identify young players and then build their capacity.
“We also have in place a high performance programme that is aimed at closing the gap between first class and international cricket. We believe this is an important step in building for the future. “We also have a number of loyal, blue-chip sponsors that makes the development of our cricket sustainable and we are confident that we will continue to be one of the world’s top cricketing nations. “We remain, however, deeply disappointed in the Proteas’ performance in the semifinal and at the World Cup in general. We will take the lessons learnt from this into our immediate and future plans”.

congradulations on winning the cup you got the no.1 spot but we ranked at no.4 within reach
i think we should speak to the admins to stick this thread so we can keep updated of our teams preformances
the worldcup was great entertainment but cricket must go on & i want my no.1 spot back also there is alot of teams that want that spot
i will keep the site updated but i'm mostly going to cover the games i see so it's mostly going to be about south africa but there is other cats from around the world who can support their countries in here
