(2000)

IMO a pretty ill album in places. Felt a review was worthwhile. I love some of the beats on here.

1. Intro - skit to skip

2. Genesis - 5/5 -

the beat is one of the most atmospheric and moody beats I can remember even for a Mobb Deep album. No one ryhmes better over a dark beat than P imo.

3. Drive Thru - skit to skip

4. Rock Dat Shit - 2/5 -

Beat is pretty lively ibut it sounds a bit commercial. I just dont like the chorus.

5. What U Rep - 3.5/5 -

Beat is fucking ill. I thought Nore was fucking up this track though with his annoying self.

6. Keep it Thoro - 5/5 -

Classic imo this Alcemist beat has got to be one of the best he ever done. Ive heard P spit better though thats not including the "keep it thoro" part. I like his 2nd verse aswell.

7. Cant Complain - 2.5/5 -

Prodigy produced track its OK nothing special. Its listenable. I dont like twin gambino or Chinky so loses points there.

8. Infamous Minded - 2.5/5 -

Has an old skool feel and of course hes taking the "criminal minded" chorus. Its aiiight, not special though.

9. Wanna be Thugs - 4/5 -

imo Havoc kills it on the chorus and beat simple trademark from him but captures the mood well. Its that pissed off Mobb style perfect.

10. Three (feat Cormega) - 4.5/5 -

Mega rips shit up as usual, he actually shows up P with his verse. Nice piano beat, perect beat for Mega aswell. One of my favorite Mega verses.

11. Delt W/Bullshit - 3/5 -

Slow Havoc track its alright.

12. Trials of Love - 3/5 -

Gave it 3 cuz it has a nice Tru Master style beat. The female MC "Mz Bars" is wack.

13. H.N.I.C - 4/5 -

Nice strings on the beat. P just rapping about how good he is at everything.

14. Be cool skit - just like ironman skits

15. Veterans Memorial - 3.5/5 -

Nice reminisce track about a lost friend. P shows soem emotion on this and shows he has some talent for storytelling.

16. Do it - 1.5/5 -

Dont like it.

17. Littles - just a littles accapella - mediocre

18. Y.B.E - 1.5/5

Nah

19. Diamond - 2/5 -

20. Gun Play (feat Big Noyd) - 2/5 -

Not bad...

21. You can never feel my pain - 5/5 -

My second favorite track ill just put the lyrics here and you can decide for yourself. But this track P was doing this type of personal rapping before Jay Z on blueprint.

Nineteen seventy four, motherfucker I was born with pain
My moms and my pops pass it down to me
So don't talk to me about can I feel yours
Cause I ain't feelin you at all, your pain isn't pure
You cryin cause you broke from the projects
That's not pain, that's emotions, you a bitch
Im talkin bout permanent, physical sufferin
You know nothin about that
You just complain cause you stressed
Nigga, my pain's in the flesh
And through the years that pain became my friend; sedated
with morphine as a little kid
I built a tolerance for drugs, addicted to the medicine
Now hospital emergency treat me like a fiend
I rather die sometimes I wish a nigga O.D.
Beggin God for help, only to find
that I'm all by my God damn self
Ay you can never feel my pain nigga

And the females ask - P, why you always look mad?
Don't mind me if I may come off like that
But see, a nigga depressed, I need smoke
I need me a drink, I'm tryin to stop those
Experience life, through the shoes of me
What you find, is you can't do that, you ain't built for it
The impact I put on this earth
It's like nuttin that you ever seen or heard; so look listen
When I speak, sit up in your seat
Pay attention to the words, cause the story is deep
In and out of crisis, since before I could walk
It gave me strength though, nowadays I hardly talk
It made me cold-hearted, anti, I won't play sports
I barely joke or play games, take it how you want
My handicap took its toll on my sanity
My moms got me at the shrink at like 13
And doctors called the cops on me
Cause I be throwin IV poles and they ignore me
I gotta, try to calm down and breathe
I can only hold it but for so long; put me to sleep
Do I sound insane... if I do, then this here was written for you
Cause you could never feel the pain nigga

Overall then pretty good LP in places much better than most of the shit out now.
